We are friendly, welcoming people who love people. We eat mostly organic, paleo style meals and would love to share with you what we know about nutrition (including fermented foods) and living a chemical free, low EMF, natural life. My husband loves history, literature, and poetry. Our adult son enjoys nature, writing, music, playing instruments, and long conversations. He loves to explore local woods by foot or ride the trails by bike. I make up recipes and am busy downsizing, packing, and fixing up our home, in preparation for moving. We love good food, engaging conversation, and playing board games.

The following is outdated, but we thought you might like to read it: [This Saturday, our son is giving a wild edible and medicinal plant walk at a local park, then heading to Carnegie Mellon University for a wind ensemble performance with another person, and YOU, if you like.]

Tent camping in our yard with house access. Tent and cooler provided if needed. Alternatively, staying in the livingroom may be an option.

Your main meal, which is provided along with possibly other meals, will be with us inside our home :) The food we eat is mostly organic and paleo/keto style (meat, veggies). Some grains are available.

We can start our work day preparing and eating a meal, or work some and then eat. We can discuss meal time preferences and come up with a plan.

We have no landline phone. You are welcome to use one of our cell phones if needed. Internet is available daily, though we keep the wifi off most of the time.

We can pick you up at the airport or bus station.

No smoking or wearing cologne/perfume on our property, due to allergies.

You can ride with us if you don't have a car for shopping and a few activities, depending on length of stay. There is no public transportation.

Several parks are nearby with many trails. The city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is 35-40 minutes away: science center, world renown Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, incline, theaters, sports arenas, and concerts. Near Pittsburgh, is Kennywood Park, museums... The closest town, 10 minutes away, has 2 ice skating rinks, numerous restaurants and many big name stores.

We live in a rural area with a few farms nearby that may give tours.

    We cannot accommodate pets, sorry.

We would enjoy visiting with you at times, as well as having our own space/time other times.
