  Description

  My husband and I own a yoga retreat and beach club in Sicily- it is open from April-November. When the retreat is closed, we split our time between home and travelling.
  
  Our first baby (Santiago) was born in March 2025 so we are looking for help around the house and with Santiago. Baby care will always be done with one of us also present.
  
  When she left our first au pair sent me this message: Thank you for everything and amazing experience. I had a great time being part of your family. I loved seeing Santi grow and how fast he is changing and learning new things. You will always have a special place in my heart ❤️ I am already missing you all 🫶
  
  How much you’ll need to help will vary dependent on activities we have going on. I am happy to be flexible and discuss hours week by week. So you’ll have tilme to go to yoga classes and workshops (when the retreat is open), the beach (5min walk from our house), go sightseeing etc.
  
  I am British and my husband is Italian. We are outgoing, sociable and relaxed. Our baby is really cute, easygoing (unless he is hungry or tired, of course) and happy to be held by other people.
  We also have 2 dogs and a few cats- we have other volunteers to help with their care.
  
  When the retreat is open, we have an international team of staff and volunteers (in their 20s and 30s) who work at the retreat and beach club. So you will have plenty of people to socialise with. You will be welcome to join them for meals at the retreat or beach club. We have been hosting Workawayers here for years and have always had good experiences.

  There are many UNESCO sites around the area that you can visit. Usually our volunteers make friends with the guests and often go around with them. At night, there are some bars at around 3 to 5 km away.

  Help

  Location: South Sicily (near Noto)
  Role: Au pair
  Duration: 1 to 3 months (with possible extension)
  When we need somebody: Starting ASAP.
  Languages: English required, Italian will make your time here easier but it is not a requirement
  
  Requirements:
  - Experience looking after a baby
  - English speaker
  - Permission to work in Europe
  - Warm, loving and patient
  - Energetic
  - Organised and happy to stick to a routine
  - Happy to take the initiative to stay on top of household jobs and baby care
  - Comfortable in hot weather- weather in Sicily is 25-40C from June-October. Our home and volunteer accommodation has air conditioning
  - Happy around dogs and cats
  - Manual driving licence would be helpful
  
  Duties:
  - Changing, playing with and getting Santiago to sleep
  - Helping me to take Santiago to the beach, friends’ houses etc
  - Tidying the house
  - Light cleaning (we have a cleaner who comes a few times a week)
  - Occasional cooking (we mostly eat at the retreat or beach club, you’ll be welcome to join us)
