The school is in Samoeng, a village located in a remote mountain area of the north of Thailand. It's one hour drive from Chiang mai city. In Samoeng you'll find restaurants, supermarkets, a bank, a farmacy, a post office, etc.
Our students, a little more than 100, are 3 to 15 years old.
Although we are a goverment school, we teach on a way inspired by Montessory system. Most of the teaching is provided to small groups where students take an active part in the teaching process. We care about the happiness of our kids.
Half of our student come from Burmese families. They are stateless and their future will be difficult, they need your help to get a good star in their life.

- You will learn about the traditional way of living of Thai people. How people treat each other with respect even from different cultures and religion. The place of Samoeng looks like Thailand 10 years ago.
- See how hill tribe people grow special crops in order to escape poverty (strawberries, coffee, avocado, etc.) and bring it to the market.
- Share good moments with the students and the teachers who are very exited to spent time with foreigners.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We need someone who is willing to teach English to kids 3-8 years old. You can be native or not, it does not matter. Your also welcome if English is your second language.
On another way you will be invited to take part to many different activities and present your personal skills.(maintenance, woodcraft, programming, cooking, welding, and any technical project).

- For your accommodation, you get a room in a traditional wooden house. The volunteer house is downtown and not far from school. It's close to the local market, minimart, local shop and restaurant. You can use a bicycle (provided by the school) to go shopping to the Samoeng's market. To get to Chiang mai you can take a minibus. There is one leaving every 2 hours.
-The volunteers will share lunch with the teachers and students at school. For breakfast and dinner you can choose to eat with a teacher or you can buy it for yourself.
