About us- we are answering now again!!!

    Please send your request :)
    Hello,

We are a small family with two children, aged 5 and 17, living an off-grid life in Portugal with currently up to nine donkeys, chickens, dogs and guinea pigs and our mini pony "Persy".

We are looking for some helping hands with gardening, taking care of the donkeys and other things around our land. At the moment, we are also replacing the wooden walls of our small buildings with straw and clay, and we would be very happy to have some help with this as well.

We are nature-loving and rooted people and have been living in Aljezur for more than 15 years. We have many projects and ideas for our land and would love to make it a more beautiful and thriving place. Sometimes we simply don't have enough time to be everywhere at once, so an extra pair of hands is always very welcome.

And of course, our lovely long-eared friends are always happy to have some company, attention and grooming. There is also always some donkey poo to collect!

We are looking forward to meeting people who enjoy nature, animals and simple living.

Right now, we would love to gather a small group of helpers during August and September, so that together we can make some bigger steps forward before the winter season begins.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

With us, you can learn practical things about sustainable gardening, the local flora and fauna of southern Portugal, general knowledge about landscaping and working with the land, and of course plenty about animals such as donkeys :), dogs and others.

You can also learn about building with wood and other natural materials, including our current work with straw and clay.

We are happy to share what we know and learn from each other along the way.

Aljezur is a biotope of different people and cultures, offers a wide range of social events and other offers that can serve personal development.

Absolutely loved for its amazing nature, wonderful beaches and surf!

As mentioned before, we would really appreciate some help in the garden, such as preparing new beds and helping with the general maintenance.

When we work on the clay walls, the tasks include preparing the clay, mixing it with straw, filling the walls and other simple jobs around the construction.

Our 5-year-old loves making new friends, and depending on the connection you have with him, it can be lovely if you feel like spending some time together and getting to know him.

The donkeys always appreciate some love, attention and grooming. Their manure also needs to be picked up, mostly on a daily basis.

The accommodation space we offer also needs some care and maintenance.

There are many different things to do here, so you can hopefully find something that you enjoy while also becoming part of our everyday life for a while.
