    Description

We are a small but growing eco-project and retreat center nestled in the green mountains of El Retiro, Colombia. Our land, called Yaogará, is a sacred space dedicated to regenerative living, ancestral wisdom, and building community around nature, healing, and creativity.

Our main activities include hosting plant medicine retreats (Camino al Sol), running a small farm (with chickens, tomatoes, and vermicompost), and developing a co-working glamping space for remote workers seeking inspiration in nature. We also host occasional jungle journeys, workshops, and events focused on personal transformation and ecological living.

We’re passionate about sharing our journey and values with the world – and that’s where you come in! We’re looking for a creative, self-driven volunteer who can help us improve our social media presence, especially on Instagram and Facebook. This includes creating content (photo/video), writing posts, helping structure our content calendar, and capturing the spirit of Yaogará in a way that speaks to our audience.

You’ll live in a peaceful, beautiful location surrounded by nature, working alongside a small international team who value authenticity, collaboration, and purpose.

Yaogará is a peaceful and inspiring place where people from different backgrounds come together to work, learn, and share experiences. As a volunteer, you’ll become part of a small team of locals and internationals involved in different parts of the project — from farming and hospitality to retreats and content creation.

We often share meals, have relaxed evenings by the fire, and take time to explore the beautiful surroundings. You’ll have the chance to visit local markets, get to know the nearby town of El Retiro, and connect with people who are passionate about sustainability, creativity, and alternative ways of living and working.

We’re happy to share what we know about building a project like this from the ground up — including social media strategy, farming, hospitality, and community-based work. At the same time, we’re always curious to learn from others and hear fresh ideas.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy living close to nature, meeting new people, and contributing to a project with purpose.

We’re looking for someone who can take the lead on creating authentic, engaging content that captures the spirit of our project and helps us connect with a wider audience online. The main focus will be on Instagram, but your work may also be featured on our website and other platforms.

    Tasks include:
    • Taking photos and capturing b-roll video footage of daily life, nature, our glamping space, retreats, and farm
    • Creating and editing short-form video content (Reels/stories)
    • Recording and editing guest testimonials
    • Helping develop a content calendar and suggesting post ideas
    • Occasionally assisting with basic website/socials updates if you’re comfortable with that

We’re not looking for a perfectionist — we value realness and storytelling over polish. Ideal for someone with a passion for visual storytelling, social media strategy, and a good eye for beauty in natural, grounded spaces.

You’ll have creative freedom, support from our team, and plenty of inspiring material to work with.

    Accommodation

Volunteers stay in simple, clean accommodations on our property surrounded by nature. We have shared rooms available in one of our rustic cabins, each with comfortable beds, bedding, and access to a shared bathroom with hot water.

We also run a small glamping-style hotel on-site. If you prefer more privacy and comfort, you’re welcome to stay in one of the private cabins at a discounted rate, depending on availability.

We have a shared kitchen where you can cook your own meals, and often prepare food together as a team. We provide basic ingredients (like rice, beans, vegetables, eggs), and you’re welcome to bring anything extra you’d like. When retreats are happening, there may also be shared meals prepared by the kitchen team.

This is a peaceful place ideal for those who enjoy simple living, good company, and time outdoors.

We’re located about 20 minutes by car from the town of El Retiro, in a quiet, rural area surrounded by forest and farmland. It’s a great place for hiking, reading, creating, and enjoying time offline. We go into town regularly for errands and are happy to bring you along when needed.

Please note: this is a family-oriented and peaceful environment. We ask that volunteers respect our no parties, no drugs policy. We’re looking for people who enjoy a natural lifestyle, are respectful of shared spaces, and contribute with a positive and proactive attitude.

During your free time, you’re welcome to explore the land, join group activities, or simply relax and recharge. The experience is best suited for people who are independent, open-minded, and enjoy a balance of community and personal space.
