My time at Ilona and her family was a really nice experience. I felt welcome from the first moment I entered the house. Ilona is a great host. She is a very warm, kind and funny person. I also learned a lot from her about gardening and taking care of animals. We had nice chats together and also we respected each other’s privacy and alone time.

The 3 sheeps are amazing, they are so sweet and easy to take care of. You will love them very easily, i’m sure :)
It was really relaxing for me that I could make my own ‘work schedule’. It gave me space to choose what to do and I didn’t had to look at the clock. I took care of the animals, cooked and also did some cleaning and organizing.
I stayed 6 weeks in Veikkola, but it felt like 6 months ;) That’s a good sign. I had the best time over there. Thanks Ilona!

I can't recommend her enough, because if you want to discover Finland, participate in nature projects and at the same time be independent and have the freedom to manage your daily tasks, this is the perfect house.

We had a very lovely time during our one month stay in Veikkola. Illona was such a warm and welcoming host that we felt at home in no time! We had lots of fun with the sheep and chicken and loved the work in the garden but also appreciated the cold days we stayed inside doing work around the house followed up by cozy evenings where we could

It was our very first time in finland and also our first time doing something like workaway and Illona turned this experience into a wonderful memory.
There is lots of nature around the house that we explored, so anybody that loves the forest and lakes will have a blast.
Also the bus connections to Helsinki are solid, which made it possible for us to explore the city as well. Illona was very flexible and didn‘t hesitate to tell us everything we needed to know.
We are really grateful for all of this and would love to come again some time. Now that we have seen finland in november we might need to come again in a warmer season as well! 💞
Valeria and Sophia are incredible. If you have a chance to host them, do it. I cannot praise them enough. They are independent working, wise, kind, caring, reliable. I pointed out where we needed help, and with very little instructions they created beauty and order like Masters. I simply came to admire their accomplishments around the house. Not
