We stayed at Bente's for 2 weeks during the month of May 2024. It was our first Workaway and we had a very pleasant stay. Bente is really kind, attentive, curious, we had interesting exchanges although our English is not perfect. This allowed us to better understand Norwegian culture such as the functioning of universities and politics as well as

The missions carried out were interesting and often outdoors (gardening, DIY, cleaning with a pressure washer, oiling the mast of a boat, etc.). The location of her house is ideal with the view of the fjord, it’s truly magnificent! In addition, we had the opportunity to go on several hikes nearby and Bente also lent us her kanu to visit the fjord. We recommend doing a workaway with Bente without hesitation and we thank her again for welcoming us!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

It was my first experience as a workawayer in Norway. Bente and Pål made me feel very warm, I felt really welcomed into the family and really enjoyed my time with them.
I caught a lot of fish, I could use the bike and so I was able to do some hiking tours not only in the surroundings. It was really fantastic!
Because I am learning Norwegian, I

For me, the time was a huge enrichment not only linguistically but also interpersonally and culturally, and I think of it very often and fondly. I hope to see you again next year!!! :-)Feedback

We had an amazing stay at Bente's farm !
Bente and Pål welcomed us so warmly, they made us feel at home. The house is beautiful and we could enjoy the view of the fjord everyday !
We had great discussions and time with Bente and Pål at the dinner, they are curious and kind people, also thank you Bente for the very good meals ! ;)
We worked in the
… read more garden (digging potatoes, moving peppermint...) and we made wood work to restore a piece of a boat. We could enjoy the garden while working ! During the week-end, we did a marvellous hike near the house, on the recommandation of Pål !
We totally recommand Bente's house for people who seek calm, nature and like to work outside or with the wood !
Thank you again Bente and Pål, and see you next years maybe ! :)))You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I had four great weeks at Bente's place and wished I could have stayed longer! What a beautiful, cozy home and kind host! Bente is full of energy and has many interesting thoughts and ideas. The arrangements before arrival were very spontaneous, but everything worked out just fine. I recommend future volunteers to take the bus from Oslo to
… read more Stryn/Volda (~8h), as there is some beautiful scenery on the way!
The work was not too difficult but always fun, especially with the two fellow volunteers working there as well and we did a maximum of around 4h work per day. Some of the things we did included chopping down trees and making firewood, pruning the apple trees, making a 'Hügelbeet', collecting seaweed for Bente's plant beds, removing turf from the rock outside the house, tearing down part of her boathouse, giving the kitchen a thorough clean, sewing curtains and much more. So every day was unique and varied. We also helped out her very kind neighbours with some pruning, weeding and tree chopping and got to use their speedy kayak in return.
Bente was very busy with work and various trips, but she was always warm, welcoming, open for conversations and ideas and very appreciative of the work we did. She lent us her car sometimes and even took us to some ski tracks in the mountains so we could do some cross-country skiing. There is also a skiresort for downhill skiing nearby. Otherwise, we had plenty of time to spend on the fjord, going fishing, canoeing and kayaking - Bente has all the gear. We also had plenty of time to ourseves to do uni work.
We will miss bathing in the fjord and watching the porpoises and eagle go by. Thanks for everything and hope to see you again some time! 🦅🐬🌷You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We had very pleasant stay at Bente's lovely farm. We enjoyed all the work we had to do and the rooms we were provided with were nice and comfy. Our favorite meal in the day was dinner -not just because of Bente's cooking skills but also because of the wholesome talks we had with Pål and her. Every week was filled something new and interesting, so

We had a lovely stay at Bente's house. The place is nice with the view and there is a lot to handle like hikes, biking or boating.
Bente is an angel. Pål her companion was also very kind to us. She gave us various and possible tasks to carry out (Painting, firewood works, tidying, gardening, wood cutting, etc..)
She cooked very nice meals on

It was a little sad to say goodby when we left. They have been invited as workaway guests to our future house we don't have yet. 😉😄😊🙂
