  Description

  We are a Mayan and Basque couple who are starting to live in the countryside and dream of living in the countryside with a baby that was on the way. We arrived at the house from mid-June 2023. The farmhouse is in Urduliz, very close to the Butrón castle. In the surroundings there are forests, rivers and many paths for walking or cycling. It is also a few kilometers from the beach, and connected by bus with Bilbao, Getxo, Sopela and other towns. The house has a lot of outdoor space to read, have a barbecue, share...
  
  Somos una pareja maya y vasca que está iniciando a vivir en el campo y sueña con vivir del campo junto a un bebé que vine en camino. Llegamos a la casa a partir de mediados de junio 2023.
  
  El caserío está en Urduliz, muy cerca del castillo de Butrón. En los alrededores hay bosques, rios y muchos caminos para caminar o andar en bicicleta. También está a pocos kilómetros de la playa, y conectado en autobus con Bilbo, Getxo, Sopela y otros pueblos. La casa tiene mucho espacio exterior para leer, hacer una barbacoa, compartir...

  To sleep, we have a guest room with two beds, and we can offer food during the stay (for cooking we will organize ourselves to make it enjoyable and exchange recipes). Apart from that, visitors will be able to learn about the Basque and Mayan cultures and languages. Cultural exchange is important to us, which is why we also hope to learn from other cultures and alternative or ancestral ways of life from which we can learn.
  
  Para dormir, tenemos un cuarto de invitados con dos camas, y podemos ofrecer la alimentación durante la estancia (para cocinar nos organizaremos para hacerlo ameno e intercambiar recetas). A parte de eso, los visitantes podrán aprender sobre las culturas e idiomas vascas y mayas. El intercambio cultural es importante para nosotros por eso esperamos también aprender de otras culturas y formas de vida alternativas o ancestrales de las que podremos aprender.

  Help

  We are mainly interested in helping with the rehabilitation and maintenance of the farmhouse, which is almost 150 years old. We also appreciate help taking care of the fruit trees and house plants. Therefore, it would be very good to receive people with experience in masonry, carpentry, agriculture, plumbing... For the most complicated tasks, specialized personnel will be hired.
  
  Nos interesa principalmente ayuda en rehabilitación y mantenimiento del caserío, que tiene casi 150 años. También agradecemos ayuda para cuidar los árboles frutales y plantas de la casa.
  
  Por eso, sería muy bueno recibir personas con experiencia en albañilería, carpintería, agricultura, fontanería...Para los trabajo más complicados se contratará personal especializado.

  Accommodation

  The house is an old farmhouse, with a space for living and other spaces for field activities. Right now it has a large kitchen, a bathroom, a study and three bedrooms, and we are working to fit out the living room, pantry and other spaces. We also have a porch at the entrance, with chairs and a large table, and a lot of green space around the house. Guests will stay in a private room with two beds. 600 meters from the house there is a gas station that has a store for occasional purchases.
  
  La casa es un caserío antiguo, con un espacio como vivienda y otros espacios para las actividades del campo. Ahora mismo tiene una cocina amplia, un baño, un estudio y tres habitaciones, y estamos trabajando para habilitar el salón, la despensa y otros espacios. También tenemos un porche en la entrada, con sillas y una mesa grande, y mucho espacio verde alrededor de la casa. Los invitados se quedarán en una habitación privada con dos camas. A 600 metros de casa hay una gasolinera que tiene tienda para hacer compras puntuales.

  Very close to the house there is a bus every 2 hours to go to Bilbao, and another bus every hour to go to Mungia, Sopela and Getxo, among others. It also has the Urduliz metro station 3 kilometers away. Very close to the house is the Butrón castle, a walk along the river that reaches Plentzia, and many other walks or bike rides. The beaches of Plentzia, Barrika, Sopela and Getxo are a few kilometers from the house, and you can go by bike or bus. Depending on availability, we can lend a bike to get around.
  
  Muy cerca de la casa hay un autobus cada 2 horas para ir a Bilbao, y otro autobus cada hora para ir a Mungia, Sopela y Getxo, entre otros. También tiene la estanción de metro de Urduliz a 3 kilómetros.
  
  Muy cerca de la casa está el castillo de Butrón, un paseo a la orilla del río que llega hasta Plentzia, y muchos otros paseos para caminar o andar en bicicleta. Las playas de Plentzia, Barrika, Sopela y Getxo están a pocos kilómetros de la casa, y se puede ir en bicicleta o autobús.
  
  Dependiendo de la disponibilidad, podemos prestar una bicicleta para moverse.
