Description
Kerryn and I feel very grateful to wake up in paradise every day. Our lifestyle property has stunning mountain views, fruit trees, a greenhouse, and a beehive surrounding a comfortable house.
Both of us are often busy working to improve our local community and change the world. We are American and French and both well traveled. On this occasion Kerryn will be away overseas so it's just me, Ben.
We also have a strange, mostly hairless cat, who is very needy and cuddly but also allergy-free! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Kerryn is abandoning me on an overseas holiday so I'm also looking for good company and a fun time!
It would be great to connect on common interests, such as:
- Music: I play guitar, produce and mix house and techno. I'm always happy to share knowledge (e.g. on Ableton) and jam with other musicians.
- Politics: I'm involved in the Green Party and love discussing politics and societal challenges, especially with people who have different perspectives. If that's not your jam don't worry, I won't bore you with it!
- Board games: I'm a keen Catan and Risk player and love a good session.
- Beekeeping: I'm still a beginner but happy to share what I know and nerd out on fascinating bee facts.
I'm busy building a tech business so you'll also have plenty of occasions to enjoy the place in your own time. -
Help
I need help in the garden as spring is always crazy! There'll be some basic tasks like weed whacking, lawn mowing, and general garden maintenance, but also more interesting things like growing veggies on our property, checking on our bees, and also helping out in the neighbourhood's communal orchard.
If you're interested or skilled in these areas, there could also be opportunities to build garden structures or help on irrigation systems. -

I rarely get to practice my German so that would be fun! I'm French so also happy to do that. -
Accommodation
We have a comfortable spare room and there are two toilets in the house. The house has all the modern comforts and a garage with a gym set up.
You're also welcome to sleep in your campervan in the driveway if that's your preference.
When it comes to food, we can do some meals together and some meals separate depending on our schedules. Happy to fund the food for joint meals.I don't expect you to cook for me, we'll just take turns when we eat together. -
What else ...
I work from home, so I'm at home most of the time. I'll mostly be in my office, so the rest of the house is relatively free.
There are lots of cool things to do in the area, including Abel Tasman, the mountains, and Golden Bay. You're welcome to come and go for little adventures. Happy to negotiate schedules. -
