    Description

It all began with my father’s dream, know as Antonio de Padua. We've started planting bananas, avocados, grapes, oranges, lemons, and even dragon fruit in 2020/2021. Since then, our organic farming has given rise to products like our (delicious!) grape juice.

You will find here native forest, agroforestry, a meliponary (with native stingless bees), a meditation spot with the statue of Mother Kwan Yin, and a beautiful waterfall! That's the perfect place to relax, reconnect with nature, and chill out and they were inspired by an element of nature (fire, earth, water, and air). We have amazing and very kind staff members! There are currently 4 paid staff members composed by a manager, a kitchen maid, a clealin lady and a general services assistant.

Our organic farm is located in a neighborhood known for its certified organic production. You'll have the opportunity here to visit other farms, properties, and families who have been working with agriculture for generations.

We are located in the town of Socorro, in the countryside of São Paulo state. I think it's nice to say that Socorro is the only city in Brazil with the Cittaslow certification . This certificate is only granted to cities with fewer than 50l inhabitants that meet a range of criteria, for example valuing local production, preserving traditions and historical heritage and green practices to protect the environment. Socorro became the first Brazilian city to receive Cittaslow in 2021.

  • Help

    Help

As you can imagine running an organic farm can very exhausting and it takes a lot of time. If you are ready for some hands-on work would be incredibly helpful. The tasks may include: harvestingfruits during specific times of the year (such as bananas and grapes), cut the grass, keepthe hiking trails clear. We also have a garden (so we need pruning, watering, and selecting herbs and flowers for decoration). If you are willing to lift heavier items occasionally it would be great too! For example groceries or bags of fertilizer we bring from the city. Some of the tasks can be done with me or alongside another Workawayer or even a staff member. Other tasks may be carried out independently, but I can guarantee you will be guided accordingly and receive nstructions from me.

I've lived abroad for a few years, so I feel very comfortable speaking English. Brazil official language is Portuguese, but you will find some people that will speak Spanish or even English with you (specially the young generation). I would love to practice more of my French and help you with Portuguese or English (if that's the case!)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We can provide a bed room including linens, Wi-Fi, Air conditioning, Hairdryer, a Minibar, and a Smart TV

Regarding food, you’re welcome to cook your own meals using local produce and ingredients available from the guesthouse menu. It's not required to be vegetarian or vegan — I myself eat animal protein. However, we don’t raise animals on the farm, so if you’d like to prepare meat or fish, for example, you'll need to buy it from the supermarket. We’re happy to chat and better understand your dietary needs and preferences.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

During your time off, what about enjoying a refreshing waterfall or perhaps hiking? If you need to study, or to work remotely on your laptop we have wi-fi.

If you wan to go downtown (which I highly recommend!), you’ll need some form of transportation. In this case, someone from our family or team can give you a ride. I often make this trip myself, and its only 15minute drive. On downtown you’ll find shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and sometimes live music.

Besides downtown, there are also other rural (and beautiful!) neighborhoods close to the B&B that offer adventure activities, isuch as rafting,if thats something you are interested in!
