Description
Calling all animal lovers! We are an animal rescue and farm sanctuary located in south central Pennsylvania. We have 54 rescue animals (and counting) at this time. Inside the main home we have dogs, cats and a rabbit. It pains me to say this because we are such animal lovers but, unfortunately, we cannot allow other pets into the main home. Our cats are terrified of any dog not a part of their “pack” and our dogs (two especially) cannot tolerate other dogs. Because we have given it so many tries at socialization and integration, we know from personal experience that it will not work. We are non smokers and need you to be as well.
We seek those who have who have a “can do” kind of attitude, self motivated and willingness to help. We are maintaining, constantly growing and improving the property. We need helpful volunteers who can paint, build, fence, design compost areas, help with excavation/digging, running exterior plumbing and electric to the animal houses, people with do it yourself (DIY) skills, feed/water and care for the rescue animals, someone who can cut down and cut up trees.
Our home is our sanctuary. Not only is it our personal sanctuary for peace but also a literal sanctuary to many, many rescue animals. We maintain a relaxed and respectful vibe. This means not only to each other but also to the animals of this sanctuary. There will be no tolerance for being unkind or disrespectful to the animals. You may not be rough with them, call them names or yell at them. It will not be tolerated. At this property, the animals are more important than the humans. They depend on us for love, care and support.
We will provide (or we will cook together) at least one meal a day and self-serve breakfast foods are available. Mostly plant based eating as one of us is vegan. There will be limited or possibly none of eggs, cheese, meat or other dairy products. Those that don’t cook help with cleanup and dishes.
Absolutely no smoking indoors or outdoors. This is a smoke free property. The scent of smoke on your person or clothing is intolerable. No partying. No drugs or pills. Occasional drinking is okay. One of us does not drink at all one one of us has a drink once in a while.

I don't even know where to begin. I stayed and house-sat for Asher and Brandon for 5 weeks, and I'm already planning my next visit back to see them. Both of them are wonderfully kind and friendly, so much fun to be around, I feel as though I've gained a whole new branch of family after this… read more
