Description
Hi there, I'm Lili 43 years old living in paradise here with my french husband Benoît 38 years old and our son Leo who will be 2 years old in August 2025. Benoît grew up on this family farm and his mother is shared owner. She lives 5 minutes away and together they are finishing a eco barn conversion. This will be workaway accommodation as soon as it's habitable possibly by autumn 2025. Benoît and his mother started a food forest 7 years ago, which is already producing peaches, Nashi, apples, pears, asiminier (mango type fruit). We have over 50 fruit/ nut trees. With Benoît's mother I am learning biodynamic farming. We are not a business so we don't sell anything we produce . We have a few poly tunnels, tractors, a cave in the forest. We are a 10 minute walk from shops and bars and 10 minutes cycle to Lalinde or a 20 minutes drive or train ride to Bergerac. We have a great community of other hosts around us who we exchange work/ plants/ meals and fun with regularly. We don't have any pets/ animals yet. Some members of our family are allergic so we can't allow pets in the house. I would like to one day welcome chickens and other rescue animals to our farm.

Exchanging ideas and culture is really important to me to help me keep an open view of the world and help to understand people better. I spent 10 years working on cultural exchange projects with a charity in cardiff Wales. I gained a lot of confidence and skills leading and participating on projects. I have found memories of helping build a school in Chiapas, Mexico and creating a buddha birthday celebration in seoul, South Korea. I enjoyed playing games and working together on tasks helping us feel part of a team and thats when to interesting conversations happened. We would also cook dishes from our counrties and share stories of our upbringing.
So I hope to offer this kind of exchange to keep learning about you and that you can experience local life here. We are part of many social groups on signal with invitations to dinners, plant walks and musical events nearlly everyday! You would also be welcome to come to our family meals and walks, and there are friends or family poping in most days. We often go swiming in the river or play in the park with the kids.
There is a weekly market many music, cinema, dance events at the weekend. I also have a yoga group and a womens circle you could come to. I can help you learn French or English and share biodynmic farming. Benoit can show you DIY using eco materials and he loves to share political views and watch historical documentaries.
Leo our son can teach you how to play in the garden and the little paddling pool!
I hope to learn a bit of your language and about your country and any skills you like to share. And I love to see my son playing and learning from people of different cultures.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

A typical day starts at 10am depending weather if it is very hot we may start earlier. Probably planting or sowing seeds, wedding, cutting grass etc. Lunch al fresco 12h30-14h usually vegetarian local organic veg and once a week we receive a supermarket free veg box. The afternoon we could work a few hours on DIY . We will be making a clay oven and outdoor kitchen. The evening we may go to a swim spot 20 minutes drive/ or go to a friends house with a pool. I am a qualified TEFL teacher and love teaching English. I can also help you practice french. I would like to re-remeber my Italian and Spanish which has been squished out whilst i learn french. I used to be at intermediate level in both.Accommodation
I have a beautiful big yurt in the woods behind the house. It has a double bed, electricity, two types of heating and a compost toilet. There is plenty of beding and a kettle and we can add anything you want. It is a 3 minute walk from the house. You will eat with us in the house or garden, you are very welcome to cook some meals and shop with me. We are planning to make an outdoor kitchen this spring. We can give you 30 euros per week if you want to somtimes eat out. We do have mosquitoes here in the summer but the yurt is well protected with double magnetic flyscreens.
What else ...
I could take you to visit any of the many caves around us, or plan a trip to the coast (arcachon, dune de pila etc). There are beautiful river swim spots and canoeing. Plenty of castles, workshops for singing, dancing etc.
Only house rule is no animals in the house due to allergy.A little more information
