Description
We are a family of three (+ cats) living in a semi-detached house south of Heidelberg, a beautiful ancient town with cobble-stones and castle.
We've got a nice garden and patio, living quite rural with corn fields just up the hill. I'm a Business and English teacher and my husband is a company consultant. Normally we are hard working but in the school holidays I'm off and have got some time to welcome guests.
We could lend you bikes to explore the region. We are 15min from the train station and a bus stop is in front of our house. Heidelberg is 15min away by train.
We are quite direct ... typical Germans (;-)
However, not a typical family. Regular meals are not our strength and either Simon or me are often gone on business trips/training courses. If Simon cooks, we are happy for you to eat with us. We like having a glass of wine in the evenings and talk or watch American comedy shows with Stephen Colbert. ;-( we are devastated that the show will end in May next year.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
I've to prepare for next school year's lessons so that we would be absolutely thrilled if you can do the grocery shopping and cook dinner for us. There are also our organic apples and our garden which needs to be taken care of.

I'd love to speak better Italian. Right now I'm just a beginner ... level A1 .. While staying on Elba we attended a language school for one week and it was so much fun. I definitely would like to continue and not give up like the other 3 times I started in the past 5 years ;-) I can teach you German or English in return.Accommodation

What else ...
There is a bus stop in front of our house and you can take it to the bus hub or to the local train station located between Wiesloch and Walldorf. The train takes you to Karlsruhe, Mannheim or Heidelberg in about 20-35 mins or so. Apart from the cities we can also go for walks in the countryside, e.g. Odenwald or Kraichgau. We live in a very beautiful region and there are lots of cultural events, wine tasting in Rhineland-Palatinate or even in Wiesloch. The Neckar valley can be explored by bike, on foot or boat.
