Description
Looking for help on a stunning horse farm in Northern Iceland in middle/end of july of July-end of August 2026.
We are looking for two friends or a couple to come stay on my beautiful farm in Eyjafjörður for 4-5 weeks from the middle/end of July this year. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Iceland’s countryside while helping out on our picturesque farm.
Your Tasks:
• Maintain our cozy rental accommodations
• Provide loving care for our furry friends while dog-sitting
• Assist with horse care tasks such as checking and filling water, repairing fences, and moving horses between pastures
• Get involved in farm projects like painting or building fences
• Spend quality time with Sindri, my energetic 15-year-old son, and occasionally drive him to soccer practice when Sandra is working
• Lighter household duties to keep things running smoothly
We’re Looking For:
• Organized, enthusiastic individuals with a can-do attitude
• Previous experience with horses and dogs is a big plus
• A valid driver’s license is necessary for driving duties
• If you’re a whiz in the kitchen, even better!
• Please note, we may find it challenging to accommodate strict vegetarians or vegans -

Help
We are looking for an independent, all-round talent (or a couple) that can support Sandra with the daily work on the farm.
Daily tasks on the farm include cleaning stables, feeding horses, taking horses in and out between the pasture and stable and checking on the herd, so we need someone who is at least comfortable around big animals.
Maintenance projects like fixing fences and do paintjobs can also be regular tasks. We would love to host someone who likes to cook and bake as well as it is hard for Sandra to find the time for that between her work at the airport, training horses and taking care of a million other things. -

Accommodation
Private room and bathroom
Meals are included, however it will be very difficult to accomodate a strict vegetarian/vegan diet in our households, therefore we would prefer non-vegetarians/non-vegans.
Vegetarians/vegans are welcome, but would have to supply their own food. -
What else ...
We are about 25 mins driving distance from Akureyi where there is a really nice swimming pool, cultural center, shopping malls, Ice skating ring and more. The small town Grenivik, is less than 10 min away by car and offers a swimming pool, small convenience store and phenomenal views of the Fjord. You can hike and explore the beautiful landscape right from our farm or go fishing in the river nearby.
Driver's license preferred. -
