Description
I need help from August onwards
I am running a dairy farm and I have as well some sheep and horses. The farm is in South-Iceland 5 km from the coast. Our local town Selfoss is 15 km away and Reykjavik city is within one hour driving distance. My 26 years old son is working on my farm and I need a helper with him. I am also running another business, a wool shop that was originally founded by a group of artisans interested in wool.
There is not time limit really, but minimum stay is 3 months.
I prefer a European citizen, outside Europe can only stay for 3 months.Types of help and learning opportunities

The Workawayer will take part in the local life and there are riding horses on the farm available for riding in the summer. I am a good cook and I am ready to share that knowledge.

The Workawayer will stay on the farmers home and have a good private room, 8 m2. The food offered is a classic Icelandic food, many types of meat from the farm and a very good fresh fish, so every meal is either meat or fish based. There is therefore not an option to have a vegetarian. I sometimes bake bread and even cakes. The Workawayer will have a car for own use.
What else ...
I have very good neighbors, friends and family. There are many interesting and beautiful places, both landscape and activity within one hour driving distance from the farm. I like to live my life peacefully, I like to communicate with other people and I like very much to travel. I have been a farmer since 1982.

I‘ve spend about 4 months at this lovely place which I want to call home if you allow me. Since the first day I felt being part of the family due to their great hospitality.
The main work consists of milking the cows and in general taking care about the animals. However the work never gets boring and every… read more

She is living on a small farm basically in the middle of nowhere. With her 3 children, Jón, Ingveldur, Ágúst and 3 dogs Snati, Koffy and... I would tell name of the 3rd one but I… read more
