    Description

    Hello,
My name is Sacha and me and my hubby Ben and 2 children ( Rafael and Angelina) live in a gorgeous 300-year-old property on the beautiful Greek Island of Corfu.

We are presently looking for kind, easy going helpers- ideally a couple or friends. (We are not able to host other families at the moment- sorry!)

Corfu is famous for its incredible beaches, breath-taking views of mountains and olive groves, chilled out lifestyle, fun, friendly locals. Our particular area is the alternative area of Corfu and in the summer hosts many amazing festivals, healers, teachers, musicians and artists who reside here and visit here each year. Even in winter there are weekly holistic events like intuitive singing, Kung Fu and meditation happening in our local area, and many other community events happen fairly regularly.

We are based in a lovely traditional village on the North-West of the Island. We have stunning views of mountains from most of the windows in the house, we have 2 small gardens, 6 bedrooms and a ruin of an old olive press

We are close to 4 amazing beaches, each with a different flavour and atmosphere, and our village is surrounded by nature trails and incredible walks. It is quiet in the winter and the weather ranges from rainy and cool all the way to warm and sunny :) Bring layers and be prepared for all weather possibilities!

Suddenly Corfu becomes very quiet and serene in the winter- so this is a perfect opportunity for a couple wanting some space and time to chill out, and also perfect for artistic or self-employed people looking for some space to work on a project while enjoying time in nature on the sunny days and time curled up by a wood fire on the cooler days.

Our village is very quiet but is also home to one of the most incredible retreat centres on the island. Our neighbours at the retreat centre have panoramic views of the sea and mountains it is open each week for a free Osho meditation followed by food. Sacha teaches very gentle yin yoga and mantra singing around once per week (sometimes more) and our workaways are always welcome to join.

We have 2 adult dogs (one Collie- one mongrel sausage!) and 2 cats (and many more that we feed)
We have a very bright and funny 2 1/2 year-old son whom we might be open to some babysitting for- if the right person comes along and an 8 month old baby who needs contant carrying and playing with. We would love to find, kind trustworthy people who love kids who can help us look after our little ones.

In addition to the babysitting- we have a lot of basic everyday cleaning and tidying, washing up, laundry to do and a few little house updates like painting some doors and helping in the garden

We love healthy vegetarian food and workaways who are good cooks have been godsends to us!

Ideally, we will host at least 2 helpful people, but we would also be open to individuals if one is very self-sufficient and happy to spend lots of time alone. (We love to play games and share time with our workaways but we also need time alone as a family so if you come solo you must also be happy in your own company :)

Our main focus is getting through the day with 2 children! We also have several other adventures and projects on that we would love to dedicate time on- any help from our workaways with the daily things like cooking, tidying up after our son, laundry, and holding the baby and simple updates to the house are soo appreciated!!!
There is always something to do and we love people who are happy to get stuck in :)

Sacha is a yoga teacher and we try to host regular yoga and mantra singing events while we have workaways.

We are a 30 min walk from the nearest shop and around 60 mins walk to the nearest beach. We have a car and are happy to offer rides to the shop and/or to the beach sometimes, but now that we have 2 children we cannot even fit one extra person in the car once the family is in! We have a mountain bike (but you really need to be prepared to ride steep hills. and it is possible to get around by foot. We will offer rides to our workaways whenever we can but it is best if you are ready to be self sufficient and to walk alot in order to get around and see and do things.

    Many thanks,
    Sacha, Ben and family :)

While our culture in the house is very much about yoga, art and meditation. Village life gives you a real taste of traditional Greek life. You can hear the cockerels crow in the morning, little Greek ladies laughing and talking and all the village locals are friendly and interested in meeting new people. The local food here is amazing, and the landscape is out of this world beautiful. And for those who really want a taste of Greek tradition you can even head to a beautiful church in the village that hosts weekly orthodox services.

There are lots of holistic events and sessions taking place in the local community- ranging from singing to dance, to painting and kung fu and things are usually offered on donation for those who are interested.

The cultural climate on the island is very laid back- things happen when they happen and when the sun shines you head to the beach.

Me and Ben are both native English speakers so we can help you with pronunciation and practice (also our son can help with this!)
