My name is Sacha and me and my hubby Ben and new baby Rafael live in a gorgeous 300 year old property on the beautiful Greek Island of Corfu.
Corfu is famous for its incredible beaches, breathtaking views of mountains and olive groves, chilled out lifestyle, fun, friendly locals. Our particular area is THE alternative area of Corfu and in the summer hosts many amazing festivals, healers, teachers, musicians and Artists who reside here and visit here each year. Even in winter there are weekly Osho meditations and music in our village and many other community events happen fairly regularly.
We are based in a lovely traditional village on the North-West of the Island. We have stunning views of mountains from most of the windows in the house, we have 2 small gardens, 5 bedrooms and a ruin of an old olive press ( that we will need some help renovating).
We are close to 4 amazing beaches each with a different flavour and atmosphere, and our village is surrounded by nature trails and incredible walks. It is quiet in the winter and the weather ranges from rainy and cool all the way to warm and sunny :)
Suddenly Corfu becomes very quiet and serene in the winter- so this is a perfect opportunity for a COUPLE wanting some space and time to chill out, and also perfect for artistic or self employed people looking for some space to work on a project while enjoying time in nature on the sunny days and time curled up by a wood fire on the cooler days.
Our village is very quiet but is also home to one of the most incredible retreat centres on the island . Our neighbours at the retreat centre have panoramic views of the sea and mountains it is open each week for a free Osho meditation followed by food.
We have 2 adult dogs (one Collie- one mongrel sosage!) and a very young baby boy (8 weeks at time of writing).
Ideally we will have a couple of practical people. One who would like to help more with cooking, cleaning, gardening painting and decorating, and one who might prefer to get stuck into more skilled and physical work of helping to restore our olive press, and doing small building projects in the house working alongside Ben to accomplish many different projects. (Ben has 20 odd years working as a builder, carpenter and welder and is both very knowledgeable and fun to work with- so if anyone is looking to get more experience in trades work then this might be for you.)
In some of the mornings we can practice yoga and meditation together in our yoga Shala (if baby Rafael gives Sacha the time!) and if we are all getting along then we would be very happy to take you on a trip somewhere on the island once a week to see a new beach or head into Corfu town.
We will offer 1 return car ride a day to assist you if you would like to head to a local beach or shop.

Help in the house
While our culture in the house is very much about yoga, art and meditation. Village life gives you a real taste of traditional Greek life. You can hear the cockerels crow in the morning, little Greek ladies laughing and talking and all the village locals are always interested in meeting new people. The local food here is amazing, and the landscape is out of this world beautiful. And for those who really want a taste of Greek tradition you can even head to a beautiful church in the village that hosts weekly orthodox services.
There is weekly meditation music and Osho Meditation in our village, we can practice yoga and meditation together (if the baby allows Sacha to practice) and our workaways will mainly plenty of time to be creative, to enjoy nature and do their thing.
The cultural climate on the island is very laid back- things happen when they happen and when the sun shines you head to the beach.
Ideally we are looking for a couple of practical people- at least one of the roles may involve some heavy lifting so while we do not mind the gender of the people who come- make sure that one of you is happy to do some strong and more traditionally masculine work!
We also prefer couples so that you are happy to socialise with each other and so while we can all have some friendly time together and get to know each other we can also have some personal space during your stay with us.
We would love to have help with cooking, cleaning, gardening painting and decorating, and also more skilled and physical work of helping to restore our olive press, mixing concrete, doing small building projects in the house working alongside Ben to accomplish many different projects. (Ben has 20 odd years working as a builder, carpenter and welder and is both very knowledgeable and fun to work with- so if anyone is looking to get more experience in trades work then this might be for you.)
