    Description

I live here with my 9 year old son and 2 dogs. We run a little marina. It's very wild and remote by English standards. We are keen to establish permaculture and various eco projects.
The whole area is a nature reserve, with abundant wildlife.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

There is abundant wildlife to explore. There are different people to meet as boats come and go. There will be opportunities to go out sailing.

We're miles from a road, but there is a tiny railway station, with trains to Great Yarmouth, a seaside town with beaches, and Norwich, a historic city with lot's going on. (update, the trains are not running at the moment, so it's a 5 mile cycle ride along a footpath to go anywhere, although we can get out with the car once week or so) We're pretty relaxed about times for doing things, and there is plenty of space.

We have 19 acres of mostly wilderness. We need someone to help tidying and repairing some of the accommodation. Sometimes it's fairly busy with visiting boats and the dogs need minding. A large overgrown vegetable garden needs clearing. The moorings need some basic carpentry, and the main kitchen needs looking after. There is plenty of painting to do. Projects include building an earth oven, stocking dykes with fish, cutting reed and thatching roofs.

    Accommodation

There is a choice of large static caravans and houseboats. There are also wooden cabins that need fixing first.
All these do have cookers, but food will usually be communal in the clubhouse. We are happy for people to join in with cooking. Food is mostly not vegetarian, breakfast is help yourself, daytime meals could be anything at any time, evening meal is likely to be something substantial, if anyone wants to cook something veggie for everybody, that's fine. We like barbecues.
