Update: We will be hosting only a few events during January and February, most of the Volunteers will be helping us on our Airbnb/ Guesthouse.
Our House is no ordinary city house! A big house of two parts in the authentic area of Jabal Amman; beautifully decorated and recently renovated house that turned into a multipurpose space: 1) the 'Guest House' where we host guest 2) the 'Community Space' where we bring people together to talk about social matters around dinner table. We invite you to stay at a house of food, dialogue and change, where you get to meet people. Enrich your experience and live Amman like a local!
About the Guest House:
Part of our project is a guest house l, in which guests from around the world come to stay and experience Amman and Jordan. This area is distinct from the community space, so we try to remain respectful of guests’ privacy, but it also fits well with the vision. Guests are often outgoing, interesting and lovely people, who are keen to engage with others and offer yet another opportunity to make more wonderful friends.
The guest house also help us to sustain our project and to cover the cost of the place.
About the Community:
Our community is a space for conversing, learning, and reflecting. We create and encourage dialogue to bring diverse individuals together, and to empower them for the purpose of positive change. We gather a group of strangers around a dinner table, to discuss a chosen topic. It is designed to allow people to feel comfortable to debate tedious social issues and personal matters without the pressure or judgement. It aims to offer people a sense of community and to allow them to contribute within their society. We believe change can start with a dialogue, and with the conditions in the world around us, it is important to take a moment to talk. We create safe spaces lacking of judgment, so people feel comfortable, and inspired enough to share and hear others. It allows others’ beliefs to be a part of your life, with the ever present possibility of change

In exchange for all of your hard work we offer accommodation, food, a peaceful, beautiful house and surrounding environment, and a chance to get to know a friendly bunch of people. We are located in one of the most active and open-minded areas of Amman (Rainbow street) , with many parties and events happening regularly nearby. You can learn the Arabic language, how to cook Jordanian food, and we can show you around the country! In your free time you are welcome to explore the city or travel throughout our beautiful country.
The Workawayers will be expected to focus on the general maintenance of the Community and Guest houses. It is a beautiful space, but it needs work to stay that way! As such, volunteers will be expected to help with the cleaning,, gardening, and helping with cooking, walking the our dog (Bahar).
When it comes to work here, there is always something to do and initiatives are always welcome! You will spend a lot of time here so commitment to the project vision is crucial, but in your free time we are happy to help you arrange trips to explore this beautiful country of Jordan.
An extremely comfortable and happy environment will be provided for our volunteers. Depending on how many people there are, you may be sharing your room with one or two others. Next to the volunteer house we have the community house and the guest house. It is in the community house that we host our events and hang out on those (extremely) few rainy days! Apart from accommodation, food will also be available but we consider every one old enough to be able to cook for themselves if we are not doing it together. Our home is cozy and very welcoming to all different kinds of people. We are located in central Amman, next to Rainbow Street with its nice cafes and in 5 minutes you reach Downtown, where you can find a lot of cheap restaurants and almost anything your heart desires.
