    Micro Credit Project

Since the launch of this program mid-2020, and the subsequent implementation, the project has recorded positive impact with a majority of the beneficiaries improving their living standards. We started the required training, on basic business skills, table banking, self-awareness and their rights. At the end of the training, the 20 members were divided into 4 small groups for easy coordination then each beneficiary was provided with a non-collateral micro-loan to help boast their small business. We started with 5 members because of the limited funds, this year we have added on another 10 members who have been provided with a non-collateral micro-loan of $50. Half of the members have finished their repayment and have even taken a bigger loan against their saving.
This program is positively impacting on the lives of this women as we have heard positive stories from a majority of the beneficiaries. So far we have a total 15 active members on the program. We anticipate Imarisha microcredit project will result in a well-structured financial Institution (Sacco) that will offer non collateral micro-loans to more local marginalized women, training programs, capacity building and development of business skills.

This enable the peer educators to pass accurate & correct information to over 500 local marginalized girls benefitting from this project. Over 300 girls under the project have improve their knowledge on sex & reproductive Health, HIV & AIDS and leadership thus taking control of their lives. We have witnessed reduced teenage pregnancies, improved school attendance among our girls thus improved academic performance. The project has enabled 27 girls from our partner primary schools to transition to county high schools.
