Description
We have moved to Bulgaria to set up a self sufficient subsistence small holding so we can take control of our own food supply. We keep and breed a wide range of animals and grow our own food.
We are not a commercial company or large business. We trade locally using barter and exchange where ever possible. We are investing time and money in our local area for the benefit of all, but with an emphasis on permanent residence, from all backgrounds.
We trade for a living not for profit !
Escaping the unsustainable consumerism of western society for a back to basics lifestyle in Bulgaria growing and rearing our own food.
My name is Andrew and I am English, my partner Maria is from Ukraine and we have two young boys Laykan 8ys and Samhain 7yrs, who we want to bring up in a place where they are more in touch with the natural world around them.
We sold our house in the UK and are investing all we have in Bulgaria, where we are establishing an organic smallholding to grow all our own food. We have been experimenting with a variety of livestock combinations and expanding out kitchen garden over the past four years.
We are now expanding our project to include more of the village with a vision for a retreat community to revitalise some of the many derelict properties.

We are in the middle of our establishment phase so we have a lot of building work to do while also establishing our crop growing areas and looking after our expanding stock of animals.

Accommodation
Accommodation will vary depending on number of volunteers at one time, but we have a network of local people who are offering people rooms to stay in, so it will be living with the locals in their houses as they live ....... Meanwhile, there are plenty of camping opportunities if you have your own tents, or we have a few that can be borrowed if needed.
What else ...
We have a local bus service that is within easy reach of our home, that takes passengers into Svoge the main municipality town where there is a mainline rail connection that goes straight to Sofia.
The same rail connection can be used for long distance travel to; Romania, Ukraine and Russia, or a trip to the Blacks Sea cost.
