Description
Hello we are Mandie & Stuart. We are a couple having moved from Jersey to the lovely Charente Maritime region of France. We have a Yorkshire terrier called Milo. He is small with a big personality. Very friendly and loves people.
We have been visiting the beautiful countryside area for the past 15 years before making the move 2 years ago to benefit from have a better quality of life in a warmer climate. We live in a small peaceful village 10 minutes drive from the nearest small town with most facilities. Half an hour from Cognac, 45 minutes from either Saintes or Angouleme and 90mins from the coast of La Rochelle.
We have a grown up daughter who has just completed university and is now working in England.
We are hoping to rent the rooms or property next door when completed.
We have the plumbing and electrics completed and are looking for some assistance in finishing decorating, gardening and some DIY projects to finalise the property we are in and the property next door.
We are also looking towards growing fruit and vegetables in the garden going forward. This was started however due to an accident last year and some illness we are behind with our plans. I am also hoping we can benefit from any skills you may possess. We are looking for some help in any areas with either couples or singles.
We are happy to welcome you to join us in our home and live alongside us provide food and board join us at meal times. You will also have your own room and possibly bathroom for private use (dependant on number of people staying) You are also welcome to use the kitchen independently or if you enjoy cooking you are free to share your own recipes. We would like to meet people of any age and nationality. I am hoping we can learn from different experiences. I have an interest in cookery (various cuisines), gardening (hoping to learn more) art (hoping to take up again) brocantes, charity shops and upcycling. My husband is more mechanical and a retired mechanic with an interest in all things with an engine and mainly 4 wheels. We would love to share our piece of tranquility with other people. I am happy to learn the basics of your language if possible.

There are a lot of cycle routes in the area, this is also part of the cognac region with various tours. If you want to go out and about we would be happy to drop you off to varying places or bus train station if needed. We are also looking at different places to visit ourselves so this would also assist in us building knowledge of the area.
