Harvey and Dom stayed with us 5 days. Miléna and I went on our vacation In August. They arrived at Thursday and we spent them only one day, but we saw they are very reliable and conscientious. They stayed 3 days alone on the Farm to take care of the chickens, sheep and plants. As we thought, nothing went wrong.
We felt very safe and calm being far

Joshua stayed with us a 13 days in September. We enjoyed his stay very much, he has been a great support to us. His nature was always polite, friendly and calm. He did his works diligently, he always showed up exactly at the appointed time. He took care of the animals enthusiastically and conscientiously. He completed the work even if it lasted

Special thanks for washing the dishes many times and helping to put the plates on the table.
We heartily recommend him as a good volunteer. Hoping he's coming back again. Our best wishes for his future plans.

I worked at Tamás' farm for two weeks in September 2023. I thoughourly enjoyed the experience and learned a significant amount about the agricultural and permacultural practices used on the farm. My daily tasks involved feeding the chickens and sheep, spreading manure, watering the vegetable patch, and helping Tamás to build a new chicken

Both Tamás and Miléna are very friendly and accommodating people, they provided good food (majority of which was grown on the farm), a tent, and helped with transport to nearby places. Tamás aspiration to improve and expand the farm is inspiring, and is a fascinating example of how self-sustainability can be achieved. I would highly recommend this workaway to anyone who has an interest in the environmental/agricultural sector, and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I went to visit Tamás' land for the first time as a workawayer, he and Miléna came to pick me up at the bus station at night when I arrived to Pécs and it took us half an hour to get to their place, they were super welcoming. They got everything prepared for me when I got there. A cosy tent, with a mattresse inside... and since Im very much into
… read more fruits I got some fresh figs off one of their largest trees.
They offered me food breakfast, lunch and dinner, all very delicious.
In this 3 days period besides a few small tasks, I mostly worked on the chicken coop run he is building. More specifically in the current stage, its iron building blocks needed to be prepared and painted so he can work with them.
He also showed me around the land and explain the whole idea behind it, how decades, centuries of grape cultivation has done a number on the quality of the soil and how he's improving it and where he sees it in the future, it sounds rather a big responsibility he took on. If everything goes according to the plan the land might end up prospering with an abudance of fruits, vegetables and everything needed for off grid living
There are a few small buildings on the property where they stayed during the night. There is one where you can slep and where we also ate food. At first it was rather strange for me that everything was in one room, the kitchen, the shower and a wooden container where the chicks were but it wasnt much of an issue in terms of "functionality"
Overall I recommend Tamás and his place for those that wanna get a taste of what its like to live off grid. It certainly planted a seed in me, I dont have that much experience he has at all since he is working on this for many many years already. There are bits and pieces im gonna take with me when I buy my own land one day
(This is something totally personal but its worth mentioning, My allergies came back to the point of being unable to sleep at property at night, which I figured out was due to the dusty warm blanked Tamás kindly offered me to avoid freezing at night, which I accepted, but then I had 2 nights of bad sleep and then I found out it was that. So I sleept without it and finally it was much better. Still not perfect since a tent is not the same as your own bed but still was much better that way... ohh and Tamás offered me a special cure for allergies that Im gonna try out as soon as I find a local honey producer nearby where I currently live)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
