    Description

We are a couple living in a quiet, outdoor-focused area and love spending as much time as possible outside. When we’re not working, you’ll usually find us hiking, biking, camping, or exploring the surrounding area. We value a balanced lifestyle, clear communication, and creating a warm, respectful home environment.
We previously spent years travelling the world as Workawayers ourselves and have taken part in many exchanges along the way. After purchasing our first home last year, we’re now settling into some roots and are excited to reverse the Workaway exchange by welcoming others into our home.
We have a 9 year old husky, Sunny, who is a big part of our daily life. He loves outdoor adventures and is happiest when someone is nearby, so we’re best suited to Workawayers who enjoy the company of a dog and spending time at home or outdoors.
We’re excited to connect with people who are reliable, kind, and who appreciate both nature and a comfortable home base. We enjoy sharing local recommendations and creating a positive, mutually respectful experience during your stay.

    Help

We are looking for a trusted and responsible Workawayer to help us in June while we travel to Ontario to visit our family. During this time, we’re seeking a house and dog sitter to stay in our home for approximately one week.
Home cleanliness is very important to us, so we’re looking for someone who is tidy, respectful, and treats our space as their own. You’ll have our cozy home just 20 minutes outside of Fernie to yourself while we’re away.
Sunny will need daily companionship, care, and inclusion in activities — whether that’s walks, outdoor adventures, or simply spending time together at home. Including him in hikes or outings is a big plus, as he thrives when he’s part of the experience.
We’re hoping to connect with someone reliable, communicative, and comfortable caring for a dog who loves both adventure and companionship.

You’ll stay in our cozy 900 sq ft cabin-style home, with a private bedroom featuring a double bed and a guest washroom. While the home is on the smaller side, it’s warm, inviting, and comfortable.
Outside, you can enjoy our large yard, garden, and surrounding forest, as well as a spacious patio perfect for soaking up the sun. We also have reliable internet and a small desk, so digital nomads are welcome to work from here.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We require that helpers have their own car, as it’s the easiest way to get around and explore the area.
We are a vegetarian household, but we understand and respect specific dietary needs. We invite our guests to explore plant-based meals with us and are happy to share tips and recipes.
We would like to meet our Workawayers beforehand, and arrange for arrival a few days before and after our trip to ensure a smooth handover and a chance to get to know each other.

    Profile photo of Sunny

    Sunny

Sunny is our 9 year old husky and a big part of our everyday life. He loves exploring the outdoors with us - hiking, biking, camping, or joining in on any adventure ahead (even a quick ride to the grocery store).
While our home is very much his safe place, Sunny is happiest when someone is nearby. He is crate trained but prefers being included whenever possible. If left alone for longer periods, he can experience a little bit of separation anxiety and may howl while waiting for us to come home. With companionship, routine, and inclusion, Sunny is a calm, affectionate, and loyal presence.
