    Description

    Hi,
I'm Violeta, part of this quirky family.
We have an Andalusian farmhouse, located 1 hour from Seville (with a direct bus connection Sevilla-La Luisiana).

We are looking for help from mid April onwards.

We love spending time at the farmhouse, taking care of it. There is so much to do all the time and we don't have enough time or energy to do it, that is why we though of sharing it in workaway and have some extra help and company.

If you have skills or want to learn about gardening, or have creative ideas, or if you just want to learn or help around the house, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. You’re more than welcome to join this family!

It’s ideal if you’re looking to get away from society for a while, as there’s NOTHING within 5 km. We’re located in the olive field heart of the Sevillian countryside.

Summers are very hot (too hot!), but the winter climate is enviable. Luckily, we have a pool to cool off in.

We offer accommodation in our house, basic but cozy (at least for us, and hopefully for you too), surrounded by nature and sunshine. This is a perfect spot for those who love the outdoors, animals, and a rural lifestyle. We do have a problem with water scarcity, so if you are someone who must shower every day, this may not be the best place for you. Our well can't sustain daily showers. I do love showers too, but I do love more the animals and plants alive around the house.

We look forward to sharing our little olive haven with you! To confirm that you've read all the information, please include your favorite fruit in your message. Feel free to ask any questions!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The house belongs to a very quircky nice old but joyful people (my father and his siblings) even though none of them lives here, 1 or 2 are always around. And right now, I'm kind of living here too. (Too long story)

Although most of them do not speak English, they like to learn about other cultures and share their own, especially sharing their own. Through conversations and daily activities (they love playing cards) you can immerse yourself in our culture and learn about the history and customs of Andalusia, they are very nice. But that means that we do not have availability all the time, just when we are around.

Yes, I'm always here if there is any workawayer and you are not gonna sleep here alone never ever. Don't worry. (It has been asked before...)

  • Help

    Help

The help we need varies depending on the season of the year

You will work with my father or my uncle at the farm, they will give you the instructions. Depending on the type of help you'd like to do, but mostly it is phisically demanding help like:

    Helping around the house
    Mulching the trees
    Relocating plants
    Collecting firewood
This doesn’t mean that if you come, you have to do all the tasks. It simply means these are the tasks available, and depending on the time, situation, and your skills, you’ll work on some of them.

    --

    In summer:
    - cut weeds
    - clean the garden
    - pool maintenance

    Rest of the year:
    collecting olives and fruit trees,
    Cut and collect firewood,
    Gardening,
    pool cleaning
    creating pleasant outdoor spaces

There is always something to do, whether it is planting and tending the garden, painting or cooking...

    Helping hours:

It depends on the season, summer is too hot, so usually we start at 7, but the rest of the year:

5 days a week - from 9 to 3, stopping 1 h for lunch at 11.30. but it's really flexible and depends on the people, and the day. If you like to share meals with us ☺️ and chill in between.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    It is a spacious house,
    We have several rooms,

We have 3 bathrooms, a fully equipped common kitchen
where you can prepare your own meals or collaborate in the kitchen with us.

Outside, you will enjoy a swimming pool and large outdoor spaces
where you can relax and connect with nature.

During the cooler nights, the fireplace in the main room where we eat,
play cards and smoke (family democracy unfortunately established that this is the smoking room).

The farmhouse is located 5 kilometers from La Luisiana, the nearest town.
However, we can leave the car with you if you need it and cover any needs that arise,
whether to shop, explore the area or simply enjoy a change of scenery.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are currently having water supply problems in the farmhouse due to the desertification of the area, so sometimes we can run out of water for a few hours.

The farmhouse is quite large and needs many hands to be maintained. Unfortunately we, the nephews, cannot be there continuously because we live abroad and our parents need more and more help. It is a very beautiful place that we are very fond of and we do not want to lose. We would love to share it with other people so that they can enjoy it as much as we have.
