Childcare help welcome for a 2 and 4 year old — full month of August, Andalusia, Spain
We're an English family of 4 spending the whole of August at the grandparents' place in Jimena de la Frontera, a beautiful hillside village in the Andalusian countryside. Life here is pretty idyllic: animals roaming around, walks on our doorstep, and the kind of slow pace (it is hot!) and outdoorsy live that feels like childhood summers.

We are a relaxed and welcoming family having lived all around the world. We're active, creative, and we try to make whoever stays with us feel properly at home.We believe in treating kids with respect and giving them a fun-filled childhood worth remembering. The person we're looking for shares that instinct.

We're looking for preferably a woman or a couple who are kind, caring, fun and independent — someone the kids will genuinely love spending time with. A clean driving licence and genuine experience with children under 5 are a must. Beyond that, we want someone warm and calm around little ones, good at imaginative play, and happy to get stuck into family life. We're English speaking, so conversational English is important.
Our kids are honestly a joy to be around — although we may be biased!

If that sounds like your kind of August, we'd love to hear from you. Send us a message and if it feels like a good fit we'll set up a video call to chat through the details properly.

August is a great time to be here. Jimena's feria falls during the month (w.c — a proper traditional Spanish village festival, well worth experiencing. There will be flamenco dancing performances, water party in the streets, a community paella and a DJ and shows. The locals are incredibly welcoming and enjoy sharing their culture with new people. The cafes have very traditional Andalusian cuisine, as a family we often go out for meals and would love to have you join us. We will go on beach trips (30 mins down the road) down to the mediterranean (Sotogrande) and Atlantic coasts (Tarifa) which we normally combine with lunch in a Chiringito serving fresh seafood. There is also the historic town of Ronda nearby which has the oldest bull-ring in Spain. It is a beautiful drive an hour up into the mountains. We have Spanish horses to ride to explore the cork forests (the largest in europe) and dramatic hills. There is also some great hiking! Jimena itself is a beautiful, pueblo blanco village and we're happy to introduce you to the welcoming locals and expat community here. We are an English speaking family but have lots of Spanish people who work at the house so lot's of opportunity to speak both languages. Our village has a tourist website here - . We also practice permaculture with lots of opportunity to learn about looking after the land, looking after animals and growing your own vegetables. In the summer it is hot so on a normal day we all get up early and follow a Spanish routine. We take the children to help feed the animals and play in the garden, lunch together, followed by a siesta , swimming in the afternoon and a big family dinner in the evenings.

We need someone to help look after our 2 kids while we juggle work and life admin. Our 4-year-old boy is friendly and chatty! He loves animals, imaginative play and everything Pokémon! Our 2-year-old girl is all about getting her hands dirty — messy play and exploring every corner of the garden.

Core hours are 8.30 to 1.30, maybe with some afternoons depending on availability. A typical morning looks something like this: feeding the animals first, then whatever the day's activity is — scavenger hunts, building dens, picking vegetables from the garden, painting rocks or swimming. Lunch for the kids around 1, then they nap and you are done for the day. I work from home, so I'm always close by. Obviously, you are welcome for a swim in the afternoon and dinner together whenever you want.
