    Hello. I am a person who lives alone in a cabin in the country, in Madrid in the Alcarria, with two donkeys, two puppies, chickens and bee hives. I also recently fixed another cabin 100 meters from the one I live in, and it seems to me a waste that it is empty, this would be the one that you would use. I also have a vegetable garden and a small swimming pool. My philosophy of life is based on degrowth and sustainability, returning to nature and moving away from capitalist consumption.


    Hola. Soy una persona que vivo sola en una cabaña en el campo, en Madrid en la alcarria, con dos burros, dos perritos, gallinas y colmenas de abejas. También arregle hace poco otra cabaña a 100 metros de la que yo habito, y me parece un desperdicio que este vacía, seria esta la que vosotros utilizaríais. Tengo también un huerto y una pequeña piscina. Mi filosofia de vida esta basada en el decrecimiento y la sostenibilidad, volver a la naturaleza y alejarnos del consumo capitalista. Por lo tanto el lugar es para personas que estén preparadas a vivir con poco.

    If you're thinking about volunteering at the ARREA organic farm, there are several important things you should know.

    Arrea is a space for exchange, experimentation, and learning about degrowth and permaculture; that should be the goal of volunteering. IT IS NOT A CHEAP ECOTOURISM ACCOMMODATION.

    Volunteers need to know how to use simple tools, how to treat animals well, and be willing to help with three or four hours of their time each day.

    The path of self-sufficiency and simplicity requires, for example, carrying firewood in winter, collecting drinking water, growing and harvesting your own food, emptying the dry toilet, and other daily tasks, as well as keeping the space clean. I also need someone to look after the farm when I'm working elsewhere, help in the vegetable garden, feed the donkeys, clean the stable, do general maintenance, cook if you know how, and walk the dogs. Keep in mind that it's a large mastiff, and you need to know how to handle it.

    We'll hold regular meetings to discuss each other's needs and reach agreements so everyone is happy. We'll see what we come up with.

    Si estás pensando en hacer voluntariado en la granja ecológica de ARREA, hay varias cosas que son importantes que conozcas.
    Arrea es un espacio de intercambio, experimentación y aprendizaje sobre decrecimiento y permacultura, ese debe ser el objetivo del voluntariado. NO ES UN ALOJAMIENTO DE ECOTURISMO BARATO.
    El voluntario o voluntaria tiene que saber manejar herramientas sencillas, saber tratar bien a los animales y estar dispuesta a ayudar con tres o cuatro horas diarias de su tiempo.
    La vía de la autosuficiencia y la simplicidad requiere por ejemplo, acarrear leña en invierno, recoger agua potable, cultivar y recolectar tus propios alimentos, vaciar el váter seco y otras labores cotidianas, así como mantener el espacio limpio, también necesito que alguien cuide la granja cuando yo trabajo fuera, ayuda en el huerto, dar de comer a los burros, limpiar la cuadra, mantenimiento general, cocinar si sabes, pasear a los perros, hay que tener en cuenta que es un perro mastín grande y hay que saber manejarlo.
    Haremos asambleas periodicas para ver las necesidades mutuas y llegar a acuerdos para que todo el mundo este contento.
    Ya veremos, lo que se nos ocurra.

    We will provide you with simple vegetarian meals for you to cook for yourself. Your accommodation is a 4x6 meter open-plan cabin with bunk beds, a kitchenette and refrigerator, a container of drinking water (there is no running water), a wood-burning stove that you will need to light, and a solar lamp for the night. There is also a composting toilet. In the other cabin where I live alone, located 100 meters away, I have a toilet, shower, water, and everything else you might need. We are vegetarians. Our property, where both cabins are located, is 2 km from the nearest town. There, I have another house with more amenities and hot water. There is a bus stop 1.5 km away.

    El alojamiento para ti, es una cabaña diáfana de 4x6 metros, con literas, con cocina y nevera, un bidón de agua potable, no hay agua corriente, estufa de leña que tu deberás encender y una lampara solar para la noche. Y un váter seco.
    En la otra cabaña donde yo vivo solo a 100 metros de distancia, dispongo de wc, ducha, agua y todo lo que puedas necesitar.
    Somos vegetarianos.
    Nuestra finca donde se encuentran las dos cabañas, está a una distancia de 2 km del pueblo mas cercano. Donde tengo otra casa con más comodidades y agua caliente. Hay una parada de autobús a 1,5 km.

    It is a modest and austere cabin surrounded by nature, with more or less capacity for 4 people. It is located in the Madrid Alcarria to shore Tajuña, 60 km from the capital.
