    Description

Hello! Hola! we are very new to this site. My husband Jonathan and I (Jennifer) purchased a defunct hotel/hostle, right on the bay of Golfito. This is our private home, not open to the public or functioning as a business. Our goal is to lovingly bring this space to center, filled with love, stories and friendship. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least one month and up to 3 months. The property has a beautiful pool we would like to teach volunteers how to manage and maintain,

We will need your help with basic day to day maintenance of our home. Cooking, cleaning, laundry and keeping things clean and organized. We would love to have artists come and help us design and paint murals. We have a very small garden area and would like to have help making the most of it. We have a lovely dog that will needs walks a few times a day. We need at least and INTERMEDIATE LEVEL of English and Spanish would be very useful.
Depending on how many volunteers we have, there are semi-private rooms and private rooms. We offer room and meals.

As this is a home in progress, we have local construction workers who will be on-site off and on, throughout the week days.

Our end goal, is to have this be a place people will come for retreats, meditation and healing. Sharing the journey along the way with people from around the world is our hope.

learn about the Golfo Dulce and Golfito Bay. Learn the local culture and foods. The outer bay hosts so much sea life. Including over 400 local dolphins, seasonal whales, turtles, hammerhead sharks and a host of fish. There are coral reefs for snorkeling or diving.
The area around Gilfito has many places to go hiking, kayaking, yoga and more.
Our home has a relaxed atmosphere with views on top of views of the bay. A beautiful space where the ocean and the sky provide an endless array of memorable scenes. Oh and the occasional dolphins, turtles, rays, needle fish that swim past our dock.

    Accommodation

Since this was a hotel, we have several rooms, all with their own bath. some have 2 queen beds, one has 3. others have a single queen or a bunk bed. we have an outdoor "pool bar" kitchen with a pizza oven. (that we have yet to try! any pizza officiants who want to give us a lesson??) We have an indoor kitchen that we also have yet to use. We have been able to cook and feed easily 15 to 20 in the outside kitchen. It has a commercial stove with griddle as well. we will provide breakfast but will expect volunteers to assist with preparing meals. Lunch is also provided and the same as above. Dinner is on your own, but we will have some "group" dinners. We encourage people to prepare their own if they are so inclined. We have 2 commercial 'Ninja" blenders for smoothies and juice, we have a large Berkey and an AquaTrue water filter systems, but the water here is absolutely OK to drink.

    What else ...

the town of Golfito is a small, quaint fishing village. Most things to do and see are by a quick taxi ride or by boat. There are small boats, called pangas, that act like water taxis, to go to places like Playa Cacao, Puerto Jimenez, and surrounding areas. there is also a daily ferry. There are many places to go hiking in the surrounding mountains as well. There are also many eco-tours to see whales, dolphins, surf beaches and the incredible Corcovado National Park.
