    About Me
Hi, I’m Eike! After 15 years as a digital nomad, I’ve decided to settle down in beautiful Siracusa, Sicily. I work on different online projects that let me stay connected to the world while enjoying the calm rhythm of the Mediterranean. Most days you’ll find me working from home or from a nearby café with a sea view.

I recently bought a spacious apartment overlooking the sea. It’s peaceful and full of light, but it still needs some renovation to make it truly special.

    About the Place
The apartment has 3–4 bedrooms and a wonderful view of the coast. There’s a jogging and bike path along the sea that takes you straight into Siracusa’s historic city center, perfect for morning runs or evening walks.
-ask me for the video of the place

    Right now, the apartment includes:
    Minimal but functional furniture
Hot water and a working bathroom and kitchen
    A couple of comfortable beds
    Fiber internet
    Desks and some storage space
Three good bikes for getting around
    How It Works

I’m looking for someone who can lend a hand with renovation tasks for around 10 hours a week. In exchange, you can stay here for free, and I also pay between 7 and 15 EUR per hour, depending on the type of work.

It might sound low at first, but in Sicily, most daily rates are around 100–150 EUR per day, and I’d be subtracting 100 EUR per week for accommodation. So, if you help for around 10 hours a week, your stay is completely free. If you work more, you get the rest in cash. Everything is flexible and negotiable.

    The Spirit of the Place
I don’t want this to feel like an employer-employee situation. I see it more like sharing a home with a flatmate. You live here as if it were your own place, and I do the same. Since you don’t pay rent, I just ask for a little help with the renovation work in return.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I’m a multicultural person who speaks eight languages and has lived and worked across several continents – from Europe and Asia to South America. I’ve just recently arrived in Siracusa, so I haven’t yet had the chance to build a local community here. But that’s something I deeply hope to do over time.

Siracusa is full of international tourists and has a rich Mediterranean cultural history. While I’m still settling in (it’s only been one week!), I already have at least one other international guest staying here, and I’m excited to welcome more people from different backgrounds.

Eventually, I hope to turn this apartment into a small co-living space for people from all over the world – a place where we can share skills, ideas, meals, and good conversations while enjoying life by the sea.

    Help

I'm looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on tasks – nothing too heavy – to help out 2 hours per day. If you have any DIY, renovation, or handyman experience, even better!

Some of the tasks may include:
    Painting walls and furniture
    Sanding walls and windows
    Installing or replacing electrical plugs
    Helping with old shutters
    Organizing and light clean-up

If you have a car, that’s a bonus (e.g. for picking up materials), but it’s not required.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You’ll have your own private room in a spacious 3–4 bedroom apartment with stunning sea views in Siracusa, Sicily. The room includes a comfortable bed, and a table will be added within the next few days. Fresh sheets and towels are provided, and you’ll have full access to the kitchen, bathroom, and shared living spaces.

The apartment is located right along a beautiful coastal path that’s perfect for jogging or cycling and leads directly into Siracusa’s historic city center. It’s a peaceful, inspiring place — ideal for those who enjoy the sea breeze, natural light, and a relaxed Mediterranean rhythm.

While we are still rennovating, it’s already comfortable and welcoming. We now have fiber internet, hot water, basic furniture and storage, and three good bikes for getting around.

You’ll be sharing the apartment with me and occasionally one or two other international guests. My goal is to gradually turn this space into a small, creative co-living home where people from different backgrounds can live, collaborate, and enjoy Sicily together.
