G'Day, I'm Julie and my partner Charles and we are an older (in age) couple living the dream and have a small slice of heaven in the Tweed Caldera surrounded by a lot of Australia's wildlife.
Our place is 26Kms inland from Murwillumbah.
When not working we travel to SE Asia and bush walk our local area.
We are both accepting of all and our mantra is 'Peace, Love and Understanding'.
If you write to us asking for help in getting visas, we cannot help you. We are not a business - sorry!
We don't have rigid working hours or conditions. Jobs are dependent on weather conditions and what needs to be done at that time.
Julie is multi skilled and talented in lots of areas. Conversation is never dull!
Charles was born in Scotland and lived in Canada before coming to Australia. He also has a wide range of interests and skills.
You name it, we've probably done it!
Gardening
DIY and building projects
Farmstay help

We are friendly and accepting and love meeting new people. This is why we love Workaway. We've had many backpackers stay with us over the years, many of whom keep in touch and remain firm friends.
We are now looking for volunteers/workers who would like to learn the basic skills required to live on a small 'farm' and reap the rewards that living in harmony with the environment and self-sufficiency brings to your life.
We have traveled through SE Asia and look forward to returning again. We help out at a couple of remote village schools in Laos and I am a documentary film maker/photographer and video editor and Charles is multi-skilled in life and farm work and we are both happy to teach these life skills, as well as farm and environmental skills.
We live surrounded by nature and have wallabies, numerous bird life, a goanna and a few pythons (friendly) and we share these with all our visitors.
We have a small property of 7 acres (4 Hectares) and need help with various jobs around the farm, like fences, planting trees and preparing soil, compost making and general farm stuff.

We have raised a lot of seedlings for native trees and shrubs which need to be planted. Heavy rain for the last few months has made it difficult. Now is the chance to get your hands in the soil and help with the planting!
We have cows, a few chickens and a duck that could have their enclosures improved and veggie gardens that always need work. Any help around the house would be appreciated as well.
We both get aching and knotted muscles. If you have therapeutic massage skills we will be happy to hear from you.
I also am familiar with computers but if anyone is good with websites etc that could show me more, that would be great!

We have a self-contained granny flat with a en-suite and a queen bed, but cooking would be in the main house... we prefer to share meals... although not true vegetarians, we eat healthily and do eat seafood and sometimes free range chicken.
We are on rainwater tanks, solar electricity and septic waste, so we do have certain rules regarding the use and maintenance of these in our local environment.
We are keen bushwalkers and would be happy to show off the surrounding areas of rainforest and waterfalls. The best beach in the world is only 45 minutes away and is good for surfing and swimming as well as fishing if you like that too. We are 1 hour from the Gold Coast and 1 hour from Byron Bay.
There is no public transport where we live and the nearest buses and train connections are in Murwillumbah 25 minutes away, our village does have great coffee shop and a beautiful restaurant/cafe, as well as amazing festivals throughout the year. we often have to drive to town, so we can pick people up and drop off, no problems at all.
We do expect people to get up early and not lie in till lunchtime and we do make a little noise sometimes... we both play instruments (I am learning), so we do like our music and often have get-togethers around our wood fired pizza oven. We also enjoy a pleasant wine with lunch or dinner and a cold beer on a hot day.
