Living in rural Hokkaido is a very unique experience. If you enjoy living in the quiet countryside, being part of a community, climbing mountains, learning about Japanese language and culture, and sharing stories, you will fit in great with our family! We are happy to share our life experiences with our volunteers. We hope both the workawayers and our family will come away from each experience with new personal wisdom and skills.

  • Help

    Help

Workawayers can help us with many projects at our home in Makkari! The most physically demanding projects include construction help building new rooms for guests and improving existing rooms. We also need help growing vegetables in the summer and autumn. We love animals and have a dream of owning horses, cows, goats, chickens and many more! Right now we do not have any farm animals but will someday soon. If you have experience with animal husbandry and are happy to share your knowledge please let us know!

We have a large family, so playing with the children would be a great help! We would love someone to come and teach them English, work on art projects, and go on adventures with them. Workawayers who are good cooks are also welcome to stay with our family! We are excited to try different foods from around the world while sharing stories!
