We are Nina (58) & Tim (63), loving partners who have been together, and lived on the same piece of land for almost 40 years. During this time we have raised 2 children, run 2 different vegetarian restaurants, as well as a healthcare business which included vegan meal preparation, mindfulness, meditation, and personal development through self inquiry....we are also grandparents to the most wonderful 2 year old!
We have a large family-size organic vegetable farm, including berries, flowers, spices and herbs. During the years we have completed several building projects on the property (house extension, sauna, greenhouse, pavilion, group room, and cottage), and now it is time for a new one. Beginning in March, we need help in building a smaller cabin from scratch. I, Tim, have quite a bit of lumber which comes from trees cut down on the property, which I would like to use on the cabin. We are looking for someone with good building skills, who knows how to build a cabin with a cement pole foundation from top to bottom. You would need to be able to do tasks often on your own and take a large part of the responsibility around the project. Tim has fair building skills and will be able to help out when he can, though there are always lots of other things to take care of around here, which you´d also be asked to involve yourself in. My experience with building (and life) is that you begin with a rough idea of how you would like it to be, then let new ideas develop and be used as they pop up and expand.
Our place is a very beautiful and peaceful lakeside property, surrounded by a lot of woodlands. We are into our second year as hosts on another organic farmingsite so we are use to having people staying with us whom we have never met before. Meeting like-minded people from around the world who we can work and live together with is something we have come to enjoy very much. We also enjoy playing music and other creative activities.
To begin with, you would live in the small cabin, and we would prepare and eat meals together in the main house. How much time we spend together outside of doing tasks and kitchen hours depends on what kind of chemistry develops between us. We are use to having our own private time, so as a visitor you should also be prepared to spend some of your free time on your own. Depending on when you arrive and how long the project takes to complete, there may be other volunteers here as well with a main focus on the garden activities.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Since both Tim and Nina speak English and Swedish fluently there will obviously be a language exchange. We promote a sustainable lifestyle that includes organic farming, creative building, and a variety of healthy lifestyle attitudes...all of which we´d love to share with our guests. We consider ourselves to be the fortunate caretakers of this wonderful property, and have plans to expand the living facilities in a way so that others can also live here and have the opportunity to appreciate what we have been so blessed with. We offer a family-style, collaborative, and supportive environment where guests are invited to explore and expand themselves as human beings. This is an opportunity to learn how to work, rest, and play in a relaxed and conscious fashion...promoting greater health for ourselves and the planet.
From the beginning of March, we are looking for 1 or 2 helpful travelers with some carpentry and building skills. You should have the ability to construct cement connecting blocks, as well as build a small cabin from scratch. All decisions about building detail will be taken together with us. Tim will help out as much as possible, though there are many other things that need attention at the same time. You´d also be aked to involve yourself in other areas around the farm.

The accommodation is a small cabin at the edge of the forest with 2 single beds, a wood-burning and electric heater...there is a nice porch with a great view of the property and lake! There is no toilet or kitchen in the cabin. There is an outdoor latrine and our guests are also welcome to use the bathrooms in the main house as needed. There is no kitchen in the cabin, as all meals are prepared and eaten in the main house. We are mainly vegan with a smaller amount of fish, eggs and milk products.
This is a very beautiful and peaceful lakeside property...we have 2 canoes and a wooden rowboat for lake excursions. We have a good deck on the water for relaxation and swimming. There is also a wood-burning sauna right near the lake. There are some very nice country roads and forests for walking and biking. There is a small town 30 minutes away by car, and a larger town 45 minutes away. We usually make trips to one of these towns 1-2 times a week, they are also possible to reach by bus or train. We often have family and friends visiting with us, sometimes staying for days or weeks at a time, especially during the summer months.
