Come and join in and help on the land and around the house . at this lovely house on the edge of a village with amazing views across to the mountains. It's a beautiful place , perfect for contemplation and being here on the land in central Portugal.

Workaways will have the opportunity to join in a structured daily routine of meditation, work, shared meals and time for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful environment.
Walk down to the local Portuguese village of Barril de Alva and enjoy the local life or visit the nearest town and markets on days off. Workaways will have the chance to learn and practice meditation, be in nature and a peaceful environment and to share your experiences with other workaways and the host. There are many beauitful walks nearby in the mountains or going swimming in the clear cool river ,Praia Fluvial Urtigal. Or just take in the surrounding nature which is full of wonderful birdlife and animals.
You can also learn gardening and how to care for nature .
Magic the dog will be your best friend also while you're here !

Mostly the work will be on land and help with a vegetable garden weeding , and planting picking and pickling.
Cooking and meal preparation and washing up and house cleaning will be shared and done daily.
Some DIY and construction work and painting .

We very much enjoyed Lara staying with us. Her work skills were excellent. She is a super good communicator and has so many skills to help with everyday tasks and gardening.We really appreciated her help with the website making for the last 3days .We would totally recommend her to anyone and hope she will visit again.

Helena help pick olives for a lot of her work time with me and worked well at the task .

Clayton stayed with me for 2 months during the Corona Virus lockdown. He is A very friendly helpful man . Clayton works very hard and enjoy s hard physical work . He was a great help for me doing many jobs like carry logs, painting, digging the garden etc. He is also a good cook and taught me some Portugues language.

My stay at Bela Vista was short but really amazing. After such a long journey I was finally able to slow down and recharge my batteries there! Day schedule is clear and everyone knows his tasks. I think, I will take the habit of doing some housework before breakfast with me and apply it in my apartment :D

I stayed with jack and magic for 10 days. It was such a lovely and calm experience, exactly what i was looking for. The work felt really good, there is a good vibe in the house, the meditations are lovely, the area is nice and jack is very kind. I can only recommend to visit this place in barril de alva.
