We are a Hostel ( The member of International Youth Hostel Association in Ireland) . This forty bed hostel is located in Connemara County Galway in the West of Ireland. The hostel is in an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by mountains and lakes, ten kilometres from Atlantic beaches, twelve kilometres from the town of Clifden. The hostel is overseen by one of a group of volunteer managers on a rotational basis. The help provided by volunteers is essential to ensure the continuance of this hostel.

Volunteers will meet worldwide guests, sharing kitchen, dining room and common room facilities with opportunity to engage in conversation, fun and friendship. Volunteers will experience Irish hospitality, meeting a friendly people within their own unique Connemara landscape and Gaelic culture.
Greet and welcome guests, allocating rooms, preparing bedrooms, presenting bed linen. Following departure of guests at 10am assist in laundry and cleaning of bedrooms and public areas. This work is completed by lunchtime Possible opportunity for more varied work, e.g. gardening or light maintenance, e.g. painting.
One of the hostel bed rooms, with bunk beds, is allocated to the volunteers. Kitchen, Dining and Common Room are shared with guests. Volunteers are reimbursed by manager for food expenditure.
Afternoons afford free time to explore some local attractions, such as, Kylemore Abbey, Ballinahinch Castle, Roundstone beaches, Clifden, and the compelling climb of Ben Lettery Mountain.
Regular bus services , linking Dublin Airport, Dublin City, Galway City and Clifden, pass the door of Hostel.
Previous experience in this hostel indicate a friendly atmosphere, shared by guests, volunteers and managers.
