Description
About us:
Founded in January 2015 & in collaboration with a sporting Club in Turin, where it has its main operational headquarters, it carries out its activities throughout the year, promoting annual courses, workshops and internships, summer camps and activities for its members.
It is an active member of AltroCirco, the national network of Italian small circus schools, and participates in and organizes national events, festivals, and gatherings.
It is associated with the CSEN sports organization and is a member of the Mag4 Piemonte cooperative. It promotes and organizes training courses for its members. It operates in both Piedmont and central Sardinia.
About the project:
A community house in the municipality of Villarbasse (Turin):
The proposal for the Community House stems from the association's experience and shared values. Our aim is to launch an educational, social, and cultural project on multiple levels: local, national, and international. We want to build a community space that is inhabited, cared for, and given back to the community through inclusive and sustainable activities.
The project aims to promote innovative and inclusive educational practices, offering experiential courses to people of all ages. A further objective is to establish a stable resident community responsible for the management and care of the spaces.
We also intend to develop projects related to permaculture, environmental sustainability, and the circular economy. The house will also be a place of hospitality and training at the national and international level, in a spirit of exchange and participation.
The Community House is aimed at children and adolescents from primary and secondary schools in the area, members and participants of the AltroCirco network and other educational and cultural institutions, international volunteers involved through reliable networks, people in situations of social, economic, or physical vulnerability, as well as families and informal groups interested in self-training courses. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The methodology adopted will be participatory and community-based. Activities will be based on non-formal education practices, with a particular focus on circus pedagogy and connection with nature. The courses will be experiential, workshop-based, and designed to be as inclusive as possible. Relationships between those who live in and pass through the space will also be governed by forms of non-monetary exchange, with a particular focus on reciprocity and solidarity.
Workawayers will be able to connect with the team and the local community by sharing the common spaces, participating in group activities and caring for the place.
In this way, we hope to create a safe space for sharing in which we can get to know and learn about other peoples' cultures. -
Help
This is a new project that the association is setting up, so we are looking for help in a variety of areas:
• Help around the house
• Gardening
• Artistic projects
Workawayers will be working with and without us depending on the task, but we certainly would like to share skills and moments of learning together. -

Accommodation
The structural resources available include a ground floor apartment for temporary accommodation, a first floor apartment designed for the resident core group that will coordinate the project, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, a study, and an accessible bathroom. There are also two terraces on the second and third floors, and large outdoor spaces, including the former tennis court where a facility equipped for circus and sports activities will be built.
The facility is organizing itself to set aside spaces for tents.
The kitchen is shared, but generally each person is responsible for their own meals (except for communal events where everyone eats together, with meal option for every kind of dietary needs).
Meals are a time for sharing, and for us, they’re an important part of the day when we can talk and get to know each other better. In fact, shared meals are part of our routine.
Three meals a day will be provided -
What else ...
The house is located in a forest accessible by car. It is a 20-minute walk from the center of Villarbasse and is located on a network of cycle paths. The house provides bicycles. The nearest bus stop connecting Turin with Val Sangone and the lakes of Avigliana is 1.5 km away, but it is possible to arrange a shuttle service with the resident group.
The structure has a dog, which tends to be kept free but is very sociable, and several cats frequent the green spaces around the house. There is also a chicken coop in the garden.
Therefore, workawayers with animals are welcome, provided they are compatible with the animals that live in the house. -
