Description
Hi There! We live in a beautiful 3 bedroom house in the central west. We are currently looking for some help on our property . Accommodation will be provided in exchange for gardening around the property and some cleaning/maintenance around the house. The accommodation provided will be clean, warm and safe. We love meeting new people, and sharing our experiences. Peter was born in Australia so he definitely has a lot to share regarding the history and culture of this beautiful country. I was born in Canada, however I’ve been living here for the past 13 years, so pretty much an Aussie:) Our aim is to have as much interaction with each other so we can learn from each other’s cultures and hopefully make you love Australia just as much as we do!

You will really get a true sense of what the Aussie culture is like. There are some beautiful walks straight out of the front door, and everything is pretty close by. We are happy to show you around the area on your days off. If English is not your first language we are happy to assist :)
I (Mel) am also a yoga teacher, so if anyone wants a class I’d be happy to teach :)

Help
Gardening: raking, pruning palm trees, collecting and removing leaves and tree debris, cutting grass. Ad hoc as needed.
Home cleaning : . Replacing light bulbs and general maintenance in the house. Cleaning bathrooms, washing bedding, vacuuming, washing windows, Ad hoc cleaning.
We would also love to host some people who are film makers, video editors or photographers!

Accommodation
We have a guest bedroom, perfect for solo travellers or couples. Basic Breakfast and lunch items will be available for your use. You can help yourself at your preferred time we just ask that everything is cleaned and tidied afterwards. We will cook Dinners for everyone and eat together (except for the occasional nights we are out), you are welcome to take over a night if you love cooking.

Peter & Mel’s place is truly stunning! The property’s garden is huge and full of wildlife (So many different birds.. a couple of ticks and leaches too ;) ). The work is hard (cutting down trees / uprooting fairly large lilly plants) but I found it quite enjoyable being outdoors all the time. The work was all very reasonable, just about 5 hours a day in the morning that way you are done by noon and have the rest of the day to explore the central coast. They worked hard for their hours, mainly doing gardening work, they learned quickly and applied themselves well, we were very happy. We hosted Daniela.. she is fun, friendly and a hard worker! Daniela's English is good and improving every day, which was one of her goals for staying here. We never had any communication issues.

They traveled a lot around the world and told us everything about their trips as well as the Australian culture, best places to go and lots of other tipps. The work is a bit heavy but its worth it because you can relax in one of the two pools !

We´ve stayed with Mel and Peter for nearly three weeks and it was an amazing experience. They let us feel very welcome. As well the helping hours are really good with just 4-5 hours per day so we could decide what to do the rest of the day. Mel and Peter also went with us to really nice beaches and to the cinema.
