    Hello! We are a family of four on a 160 acre homestead in rural British Columbia, Canada. With mountain views, our own lake, a wilderness park and hiking trails on our doorstep, along with cattle, chickens, beehives, a horse, vegetable garden and four vacation cabins, it is a great destination for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to learn about the homestead lifestyle.

    Volunteers will have a great opportunity to experience the homestead lifestyle in a beautiful Canadian setting, complete with mountains, lakes and forests. They will learn first-hand about farming and animal husbandry, gardening and forestry.

    Help

    Farming: help with daily tasks, such as feeding the animals, repairing & building fences, milking the house-cow. Gardening: help with preparing, planting, weeding, watering and harvesting in the vegetable garden. Forest work: Felling trees, chopping firewood, clearing trails, planting trees & hedges. Vacation cabins: help with preparing the cabins for new guests. Volunteers will be working alongside the owner.

    Accommodation is provided in one of the four log cabins. The cabin has a private shower room, small kitchenette, beds for up to four people. Meals are provided in the house, with the family.

    Located approximately halfway between Vancouver and Jasper, volunteers can reach Clearwater BC by car, train (Via Rail) or bus (Greyhound). We can collect volunteers from Clearwater, which is a 25 minute drive from our property.
