Description
Our farm is a beautiful, 18 acres, community, farm property on Salt Spring Island, BC. We have a small group of individuals living on the farm and stewarding the land.
Your main host will be Freyja, the owner of the farm, along with Joy, our Garden Manager and various other community members. When you reach out, you’ll be connecting with our Workaway Coordinator, Krysta.
This hobby farm has extensive apple orchards and we are working on establishing a permaculture, food forest system by planting a wide variety of fruit and nut trees, bushes, shrubs, berries, herbs and vegetable gardens, all interspersed.
We now have an abundance of berries and some of the first trees we planted are coming to fruition, yet it is a life long project!Types of help and learning opportunities

Summer 2025 is here!
The cherry and blueberry season has begun! So there is a lot of harvesting and processing happening on the farm. We are also busy planting, weeding, eating lots greens and continuing to work on our hydroponic greenhouse.
We welcome help with building projects also. Whether you have experience or are eager to learn!
The work trade is 25 hours per week and includes healthy food staples and access to farm grown produce.
Most of the work is quite physical, so please come ready to put those muscles to use!

We offer a few small cozy cabins and a camperized school bus, with a wood stove. For the summer , we also have a luxury lotus tent available.
You will have access to a shared, farm kitchen in the main house, composting outhouses, warm outdoor shower and laundry.
We also have a swimming pond, for those hot summer days and a sauna, for the cold fall days. What else ...
There are hiking and running trails close to the farm and we are biking distance from the ocean. In the summer, it is fun to swim in our pond, the ocean or in St. Mary’s Lake, that is nearby.

It is very interesting how they have organized each place for a purpose. it's a peace of heaven on the earth!
When we arrived it was after Freya and David's wedding, so we didn't get to meet them, maybe someday in the future!
Even so, we loved meeting other residents and other helpers.
