Description
It is a welcoming home and garden set in Co Sligo in the Northwest of Ireland. This is a private home setting situated in a friendly community area, close to mountains and beach.
Workawayers will be asked to join in whatever is needed, depending on time of year , weather and their own interest. There are always tasks to be done outside in terms of garden and Inside in terms of preserving, cooking.
Workawayers and myself will at times share tasks side by side but there will be times when you will work independently.
I welcome all and any skills, with the main ingredient for a good stay being open minded, friendly and a sense of humour!Types of help and learning opportunities

Workawayers will enjoy being part of rural Irish life, but won't be isolated. There are buses to Sligo from the bottom of the road (1 .5km) and often lifts from neighbours or myself. Once here you can join a all year round swimming tribe, a local community choir, visit a weekly small Saturday market.
I am open to sharing any skills I have, gardening or language support.
What I enjoy most and look forward to being a host, is not only the help and support but to share what I have on offer.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
I need help mainly in the garden but also around the house. Garden tasks depend on the season, but can include seed sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting and some particular tasks, like willow fencing. House tasks can include anything from general housework to preserving fruit or vegetables from the garden. Skreen/Dromard is a community area where people open their doors to each other's guests and friends. Where music sessions, singing, card games and board games build connection and offer creative ways of spending time together. Where the sea and mountains are in easy reach, and there is the chance to discover some hidden treasures.

Workawayers will have access to a bedroom in the house. We can expect to cook with and for each other and share some meals. We may also eat some meals independently. The produce from the garden is always available for sharing.
I am happy to provide our food. I am not vegetarian but am happy to eat like one. On days when I am working, I will leave ingredients required. I hope we can share the cooking when you are here and that we can enjoy meals mostly together. If you have any very specialized dietary needs and need specialized foods, which may be difficult to get here, I would ask you to bring these yourself. What else ...
Dromard is near the sea, with Sligo town about 30 minutes away. There is a bus service from the bottom of the road 1,5 km and also the offers or lifts from neighbours and friends. While a small town Sligo has plenty to offer with shops, cinema and theatre .
Hillwalking, beachwalking are all nearby.
The Willows is a non smoking house and the most basic of rules apply... enjoy the work and the space.A little more information
