    Description

I am a working mom with a teenager living in a home in East Vancouver. I am looking for some help around the house and garden, in exchange for a friendly and convenient place to stay. Our home is a short bus ride to downtown, and to other parts of our beautiful region. Now that my eldest has moved out, I have a small spare bedroom and would welcome guests who would like to provide some personal help to our family and community. If you are a couple, I can provide you with a larger room.

Staying with us means an opportunity to live with a Vancouver household, speak English, and experience day-to-day living activities. We will cook together, play board games, shop, and other activities based on your interests.
Our family speaks German, French and Swedish in some amount. We would love to practice those languages with you so that you can practice English. We love to share information about our city and region and can help you navigate transit, bureaucracy and other challenges.
From the cultural exchange with us, you will learn how to live in a Canadian city and experience life like a Canadian!

    Accommodation

You will have your own small bedroom with a single bed, desk, and wardrobe. It is a small room suited for one person. You will share a bathroom. We have one kitchen which you will fully share with us! We have a large living room, and a nice back deck for when the weather is nice. Your room is on the main floor.
If you are a couple, I will take the spare room and give you my room upstairs (own bathroom).

I will provide meals or ingredients for meals by mutual agreement. Generally, we will share one meal together (typically evening meal). I will do the grocery shopping based on your preferences for meals. Typically we eat an uncooked breakfast, a cooked or uncooked lunch, and a cooked dinner.
