    Description

    Spring/Summer 2020

We live on beautiful Salt Spring Island which is rated as 1 of the best places in the world. This special place in on NY Time Magazine top 50 places to visit and is also 1 of the top 10 hubs for artists of all kinds in North America. You can enjoy our beautiful natural quiet property or go to town and enjoy great music and fun and all the island has to offer.
We also have Canada's #1 rated farmers market! By the way Salt Spring has 10 thousand residences so we are far from remote however we seem a world away from the hustle and bustle of mainland living even though we are only as little as a 30 minute ferry ride away to our capital, Vancouver Island.
We have a magical 5 acre property and a vacation getaway retreat with spectacular views of the pacific ocean that surrounds us. We have incredible wildlife such as deer (baby fawns are adorable!), birds of all kind including bald eagles, rabbits, and other lovelies! We have also been awarded the 2017 & 2018 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor! Your accommodations will be a private self contained recent model caravan nestled on a quiet piece of our land with beautiful ocean views. (deer graze by your private deck!) You may also be interested in that it is situated away from our home and our other 3 guest suites so when you really get to enjoy private vacation time to yourself/yourselves. The caravan has its own cooking and BBQ and grocery allowance so you can make your own food that you enjoy. Now that this seems so perfect... yes there is more to add..... you usually have your mornings to yourself as we usually start at 11am. :)

Even though we are on a quiet peaceful piece of land we are close enough to get to all amenities such as cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, post office, library, movie theater, etc. Also the best beach and trails on the island are just a short walk away! We do have bicycles for your use and do note that Salt Spring is super hitchhiker friendly! It is quite a fun experience for everyone and many of our helpers feels its a ton of fun to meet other islanders that way. :) REad the 5 star reviews below!

My husband Michael (aka John, however he goes by Michael) and myself are spiritual people who honor this magical land that we steward. When we walked onto this property in 2016 we knew it was very special, that needed some Tender Loving Care. We also felt in our hearts that we needed to share this amazing place with others. We have been dedicated to resurrecting it after being neglected by the previous owners of 30+ years. We have done major renovations on the buildings, water well and gardens. We do our best to live in union with the land, organically, use all natural products and recycle everything! We love children and animals however do not have any at this time as this retreat is our baby that we birthed. The pictures below is from our second wedding as we decided we wanted to marry each other (again) here on this property. That is not our usual attire in the gardens! ha ha

We opened our property to helpers early spring of 2018 and it's been a fabulous experience for everyone involved! We appreciate having help with anything and everything that comes along with having a retreat on 5 acres. Most of our workaways have extended their stay, (or wish they could have), because they love it here! (We love them too!)

Now that you heard all the heavenly details of what we are offering, this is what we trust you will have to enjoy your time:

To make this a win/win situation for all involved we ask that you are dependable, reliable, organized, handy, non-smoking, a good housekeeper, nature loving and open hearted!
*️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️This is best suited for *️️️️️️️️️️️️couples or *️️️️️️️️️️️️travelling partners as the sleeping arrangements are sharing the private accommodations. Also, the work needed in one week is 50 hours so that fits perfectly for 2 PEOPLE doing 25 hours Each.

We look forward to hearing from you with the CLEAR dates you would like to come. Most of the work aways helpers stay for at least a month and usually stay longer. We ask for a 3 week minimum stay however are only open to shorter stays if you have a special trade that we may be in need of. (some special trades such as construction, electrical, painting, cement, vegan chef or RMT- registered massage therapist)
Ultimately, as we trust that all will work out as it always does!
