    Description

I live with my 2.5 year old daughter on a former organic farm near Rosscarbery. It is a small rural community. We have a sweet little old dog also. My daughter goes to her dads house 2-3 nights per week and she is in childcare 2 days per week. I work part time in town or from home and spend the rest of the time with my daughter, going places or doing jobs around the property. Sometimes I also work in the evenings/weekends but when I am free I love going to gigs, meeting friends, or just relaxing at home. I love spending time in nature.

I studied environmental science and sustainable development and work as a left-wing/socialist politician. I am looking for some help around the house and garden. We grow food together with our neighbours in this relaxed, wild, quiet place and sometimes get together for yoga and other activities. We are just a 5 minute drive from the beach, 10 minutes from Clonakilty town, 5 minutes from Rosscarbery village. There's plenty to do in the surrounding area if you like the outdoors, live music, nice cafes, farmers markets, sea swimming, yoga etc.

In general I am a very bubbly, friendly, calm person who is going through a particularly busy period in life and needs some help around the house. I am very open and enjoy being around other people but at the same time I enjoy my peace as I don't get much of it with a toddler and the intense job! So this might not suit someone looking to be very sociable or for parties haha unless you are independent (there are workaway/aupair WhatsApp groups in Clonakilty and surrounds who you could easily link up with) but it's a very nice environment to be in and there are people around/nearby on the property when I'm working, though I can't guarantee they are not busy also! Sometimes the neighbour has workaways too. I love learning about other cultures and customs and look forward to sharing that with you too. I would love for my daughter to hear French or German language around the house (not essential!). Females with references/workaway reviews preferably. 2-4 week stays for now as I try out hosting. Thank you

I teach guitar and ukulele and I have a piano and violin if you want to play those! I especially enjoy traditional Irish food and music and have travelled lots (Africa, Australia, Europe). When I have time I go watch live music in a local pub. I grew up on a small island in West Cork and my parents are traditional craftspeople who you might meet as they visit once a week.

    Help

I am very busy trying to juggle everything as a single parent to a toddler alongside my job, so cleaning and walking the dog would be super helpful, cooking occasional dinners a bonus! Bigger projects include decluttering/painting and also endless garden help/growing food and maintenance.

    Accommodation

I converted a storage room upstairs in to a small single bedroom for workawayers. It's bright and warm with a skylight and radiator but just has a curtain instead of door. I can provide a desk in there but I also have a separate office space you can use. We live on the property with neighbours from Germany/Thailand/UK who are often around. Coincidentally we were all workawayers ourselves in the past! I eat mostly traditional Irish/European meals and mostly healthy/organic home cooking including meat and fish. I suggest you can get breakfast and lunch (I will provide ingredients) whenever suits you and then we could eat dinner together.

I may be able to provide a bike if you need and drop you to Clonakilty or Rosscarbery in the car when suits. Bus stop (Rosscarbery) is a 5 minute drive/25 min walk away. West cork is a bit of a tourist spot in Ireland. Famous for beautiful coastline, islands, food, and many festivals in summer.
