Description
We are a family in the nice and big mountains of South Austria
We are running an organic Farm with about 25 cows and calves, some chickens, 2 pigs, a dog and two cats.
We have 20 ha of grassland, about 60 ha of forest and 15 ha of alp.
The farm is located on the sun side of a mountain called Woellernernock, very close to Villach.
I (Samuel) live here with my girlfriend Sarah and my parents Heinz and Elisabeth.
There is a lot of work to do all year 'round, but the most fun it is during summer when it is warm and sunny. In the cold season from November to April we are mostly inside getting ready for the next season and also keeping the animals fed in the stable.

The help would be mainly in the very big vegetable garden of our mom. She grows very good stuff and all organic
and also in the house cooking and helping my mother with all the stuff but don't worry the hours of work can be up to 4 or 5 hours a day.
There is always chores to be done!

This was such a fun and amazing experience. Sam and his family are all so lovely and welcolming, felt at home as soon as I arrived!
Work was always fun including apple picking, helping cook, starting the fires, herding cows.
I would recommend this work away to anyone! You won't regret it!

I wish I had been able to leave a review sooner! I stayed at the farm for only a week, but I wish I could have stayed for longer! Miriam, Romi, Sam, and everyone in the family were very sweet. Work was easy and quite fun...I enjoyed making lunch and doing housework and picking berries! Again, I wish I had stayed for a longer period of time!

I spent only one week on the farm which is beautifully situated in the mountains.. It was so great for hiking! The work was easy and the family very friendly and welcoming. Being able to speak german would have helped, but they were very patient with my lack of language ability.

I stayed at the farm for about two weeks in the summer 2014 it was lovely, the farm is located high up in the mountains in a very beautiful region. There is lots of hiking trails around and the work is not too hard at all, if you do know some Germany i think you will find your stay more enjoyable as most of the daily talk is in German.

The farm is situated up in the mountain so you need to reach the place by car. The travel up the hills and the farm itself offer a spectacular view over the surrounding mountains so you will definitely enjoy it if you are looking for a beautiful view over the Alps.

Too short two weeks!!!! This family is just awesome! I spent a wonderful time there and I was so sad to leave them...
I learnt a lot about the austrian culture and I had the opportunity to travel a little around, this region is splendorous!
