We are a self-employed couple in our early 50's, part time clay artists and home brewers. We have a small gallery for our work onsite. We love to go fishing when the sea is calm enough and work schedules allow as well as away in our motor home.
Help in the house
2 hours help for each night stayed is required in exchange for queen bed, breakfast, free national landline calls, WIFI, video library, games, books etc in the self-contained flat with a queen bed. Breakfast includes a selection of cereals, bread, fruit. spreads, eggs, yoghurt etc. All other meals/snacks are self-catered.
Help may include building raised beds for veges, planting trees, making compost and general gardening/tidying up work or inside tasks such as building, painting, and/or cleaning.
The private self-contained flat with separate access is in a separate building attached to our pottery workshop. It has French doors that access a patio overlooking a stream, the summer dipping pool and some wild ducks. Wi-Fi, video library and free NZ wide phone calls. Good cell phone coverage and smokers outside only thanks. Guests should feel comfortable about being independent during their stay with us.
Rai Valley is a very small town situated halfway between Blenheim and Nelson (time wise) on SH6 (the main route) and is close to swimming holes, fantastic walks, Pelorus Bridge Scenic Reserve, the turnoff to Durville Island, Tennyson Inlet, Okiwi Bay and the local pub. Buses or shuttles pick up/drop off 50m from our place. We have a small shop in town for (limited) self-catering supplies but best to bring as much as possible with you as it'll be cheaper too.
