    Description

    Greetings 🍃
    Welcome
The homestead of Myself (Julie), and my preteen son (Griffen).
This is an eco friendly, passive solar off grid garden cabin in the foothills of the Appalachian Range of New Brunswick. Here, we are nestled into the highlands with the most stellar view of Skedaddle Ridge, the historical refuge for men and families escaping the draft of the 2nd world war. True to its history, it has continued to be a haven to those choosing a life of peace and simplicity. Founded here, is an off grid eco neighborhood where we find kinship and share land with like minded neighbors.

Experience the simple life, learn what it takes to live off the beaten path sustainably, ethically and wholesomely. Retreat to the days of the primitive folk and learn homesteading skills. As an artist I can teach you about textile crafts, sewing, loom beadwork, tribal pottery techniques and more. Join me in the harvest season to learn how to forage from the wild, hunt, and preserve all the gifts of nature without the use of a freezer. Bathe in the brook, kayak the beautiful rivers here, meet the neighbors and tour a variety of eco friendly home builds: including straw bale homes, yurts, the garden cabin, and more. Experience the Apalacian Highlands here, through a vast trail system that wanders through old growth hardwood forests and the boreal forests..its a slice of heaven!

There are always projects on the homestead; building and tending gardens, constructing a straw bale/cob chicken coop, building and maintaining forest paths, creating a brook side bath house, foraging wild mushrooms, herbs and berries, aid in ethical hunting practices, winterizing a 1973 Winnabego Brave, finish carpentry on the Skedaddler Cabin, fence building, and more! We can choose together which projects are of interest to you.
