    Long term stays preferred.
Students studying in NUIG or ATU welcome.

If spending time in the rural west of Ireland working with horses and experiencing the country life interests you then we are the family for you. We're a family of 4 Tom (AKA) Dad is a business man, Steven the eldest son is a civil engineer but he's currently on walk about travelling the world just like you ! Then there's Katie, the middle one (Daddy's princess) who lives in Dublin but regularly comes home to Craughwell to escape the big city. She's got a very successful marketing career. Then there's me, Scott :) (AKA) the baby and the coolest one.

We created this originally to share experiences with other people from around the world, exchange culture and get some much needed help while the other two siblings are gone. I go to university in the city, it's my final year and I have a lot of exams and too many horses. We could really use some help with that and some house work as well just to keep the place clean for when Katie graces us with her presence on the weekends... So the house needs to be in order for the arrival of the queen at all times!
In all seriousness we are a very chill household, we love our horses and working with the horses is fun and we do it as a pastime. The horses are like pets to us. So, if you have any level of experience with horses or would like to learn, please reach out we could definitely use the help! Thanks for reading !

    What else ...

Craughwell is the local village which has a shop, pharmacy, lovely café, train station, bus stop, church and two pubs of course. We have bikes that can be borrowed to get to the village which is only a 5 minute cycle away or a 15 minute walk. The bus and train station can take you into Galway city which is only a short 30 minute journey. The Burren is not far along with the cliffs of Moher is approximately 45 minutes drive, buses go regularly. The Connemara mountains are also an hour drive away. The Aran Islands ferry leaves from Galway city.
If people would like to take the weekends to go and travel, or spend a night away they may do so its completely their own free-time. We are also very flexible if people wish to take time off and do some more travelling around Ireland they of course can just give us some notice please. A few pints in the local pubs any night of the week is totally expectable. As long as the horses or house is not neglected there will never be any issue.
The daily tasks do not take very long especially when you have help with either one of the family members or other workawayer's, so having a part-time job locally is something people could also explore if they wish to do so.
