    Description

We have a small hobby farm with a few cows and horses and we are on a path to live self sustainability. We eat from the vegetable garden. We are trying to regenerate our land, create bio diversity and a safe place for wild life.

Come learn some of the skills, knowledge and terminology that may help you get a job on an outback cattle station. We've had volunteers for the past 10 years so we understand how to teach people new skills and negotiate the language barrier.

    FARM SKILLS MAY INCLUDE:
    Using power tools
    Digging post holes
    Mixing and pouring concrete
Operate & maintain a 4WD, ride on lawn mower & whipper snipper
    Electric fencing
    Barbwire fencing
    Fixing fences
    Operate pumps and generators
    Change tyres
Safely drive with and reverse a trailer
    Working with steel
    Building gate and corner assemblies
    Using workshop hand tools
    Composting
    Vegetable gardening
    Moving cows

We have done alot of charity work with horses and riding for the disabled.
UNFORTUNATELY THERE ISN'T ANY HORSE HELP NEEDED AT THE MOMENT
You may have the opportunity to learn some basic horsemanship like:
    Mixing horse feed
How to safely approach & catch a horse
    Putting on a rope halter
    Leading horses safely
    Tie up horses safely
    Quick release knot
Feeding horses with a nose bag
(SORRY WE DONT HAVE ANY HORSES SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS)

We are in central Qld on a small hobby farm. Comfortable basic furnished accommodation available or bring your own van/bus/car. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful area. Just 15km to beach and boat ramp. Plenty of time to explore the surrounding areas.

We are very friendly, down to earth and genuine people. We have a very quiet little farm with a bunch of different animals. You will also see wallabies, kookaburras, amazing sunsets and bright starlight nights.
