    Description

G'day! We are a family of 4 (plus our friendly dog) living in the lovely town of Jan Juc at the start of the beautiful Great Ocean Road.

We love being a 6 minute walk to the beach, and a short drive or bike ride to all the fun that Torquay has to offer (live music, great food, lot's of summer festivals and many more beaches). Our boys (7 and 10) love surfing, playing sport and spending time outdoors. We have a newly built unit on our property with it's own kitchen and bathroom for accommodation (completion by November - can share photos then, it's going to be gorgeous). I am a Dietitian and love cooking and sharing meals with others. Our automatic car would be available for adventures with the boys, and for your own use.

A summer in Jan Juc is truly special.

We are looking for a female guest

We can take you to see Australian wildlife, have a BBQ at the beach, and surf with our boys. A summer road trip down the Great Ocean Road is an amazing Australian experience. You will also be with us for important Indigenous Australian events that you can attend with us.

We hope to learn about your country, favourite activities, food, and music!

    Help

I'm looking for my boys and dog for 3-5 hours a day during the week. They are very self-sufficient.

Ideally you would be confident with swimming in the ocean and bike riding (they love to surf, and we have a spare e-bike for you).

We would love to have someone with prior experience with children (teaching, childcare, or similar)

Your time would involve preparing snacks and planning some fun for the day.

This might be going to the beach, to the local sports reserve to kick a football, play basketball or cricket (you don't have to be good at these things, they love to teach).

They equally love to play board or card games and watch movies at home.

You may want to help us walk our dog to the local cafe or lookouts (she is very friendly and easy to walk).

You would be very welcome to join us for shared family meals, and we would love you to come along on any outings and adventures that interest you. We love showing people around our local beaches, iconic natural spaces and wildlife. We could include a road trip down the great ocean road during your stay. You are also welcome to plan your own adventures on weekends if you want.

Summer is a beautiful and fun time in Jan Juc, and there are always extra events on in Torquay like live music, festivals and markets. There will also be important Indigenous Australian Cultural events on during your stay.

    Accommodation

We have a lovely newly built self-contained unit in our yard. You will have access to it all to your self. It has a kitchen, lounge, queen bed with bedding and towels, and your own bathroom with shower as well as a small private courtyard.

You will also be welcome in our home and to use the rest of the yard.

We will stock your kitchen with food basics and breakfast of your choice. We have a great coffee machine in our house (the boys can make your order for you!). You can snack and have lunch with the boys, and I can prepare us all dinner each night (unless you would like a turn, then I can purchase ingredients for you).

    What else ...

You can use our spare car and bike if you need transport as long as you have the appropriate drivers license for the car.

Jan Juc beach is a 6 minute walk away, our local cafe, pub, store and bar are also 6 minutes walk away.

The Surf Coast has an incredible range of beaches for surf or swimming - we can help you know where to go depending on the conditions.

With our spare time we love to spend time at the beach, or visit a Jan Juc or Torquay based restaurant (there are many amazing places to eat). We can also let you know about life music or other festival opportunities happening over January (there is always lots going on!)

We are happy for you to have friends over when you are not caring for our boys. We need to respect our neighbours by not having loud music playing too late into the night or after our boys are asleep at around 8pm, but otherwise we are pretty relaxed.

We have a fenced in driveway and access to a powerpoint. We need to charge our EV in the driveway every ~3 days, but can work that out when needed. Caution needed when driving in and out due to our dog, but you could use our car to drive locally.
