Description
We are a family of 6 who live on a homestead and educate our children at home. We are located north of Kingston, ON and have 80 acres where we spend a lot of our time playing outside. Our family is very active and have many hobbies and play lots of sports. We also have a variety of different farm animals, including horses which we ride out back on our trails.

We love the outdoors and have many opportunities for visitors to enjoy our Canadian culture. We press apple cider in the fall from our small orchard out back, we tap maple trees in the late winter and make maple syrup. We live in an area where there are many lakes to explore and swim in, lots of beautiful hiking and other outdoor activities like skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and mountain biking and kayaking in the summer. We hunt on our property and fish in surrounding lakes.

Help
We are looking for someone to help with general day to day tasks in addition to the ongoing farm projects and garden projects. Since we educate our children at home, a guest who speaks a foreign language would be preferred.

We learn French as a family and would love to have more opportunity to practice with others!Accommodation
Guest bedroom available in main house next to a bathroom. For more privacy, a separate room (in photos) has its own bathroom and is off of the mudroom at the back of the house. Sliding doors lead to a deck with a view of the farm and the room is heated with its own wood stove. Both rooms can be made available if needed. Meals will be shared as desired, (suppers as a family, breakfast and lunch on your own or with Holly and children) but are often quick with all of the various kids sports and schedules.
What else ...
We are 25 minutes to Kingston, where there is a train station that can take you to visit large cities like Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

I spend a lot of good time with all the family and I'm so sad to leave. The farm work is no complicated and quite fast. The life with the family is rarely quiet but with 4 children it's normal. All the children are very lovely and cheerful so the noise is nothing but 4 children enjoying life.

The children are very smart and it was great doing activities with them (like the chicken game!). Hearing them laugh or say something I taught them in French was definitely a highlight !
