Xavier and Estelle were fantastic guests. They were attentive to the jobs that they did at our farm (building, animal care, painting, helping with the children). They had a perfect balance of being quiet and respectful and keeping to themselves and spending time with our family and sharing meals together. They independently went about day to day tasks like cleaning up after meals, helping prepping food and assisting the kids as needed. It was such a treat to not have to ask them to do daily maintenance as they had such great initiative.
We were grateful for our time together and wished they could have stayed longer. We wish them all the best for the rest of their time in Canada. We highly recommend you to host them, you will not be disappointed.

We were able to work on very diverse projects, even if we were there for a short time. Farm work, carpentry, help with day-to-day life, there's always a lot going on but it never felt hard!
Thank you so much Holly, Warren and the kids for making our time so great, we just wish we'd stayed longer!

Je faisais des tâches simples dans leur ferme le matin et le soir. J'aidais la famille à progresser en français, je gardais de temps en temps les enfants et j'aidais dans les tâches quotidiennes de la maison.

… read more famille était attentive à me faire découvrir la culture canadienne de l'hiver avec la chip pie, la moto neige, le pont des USA et un aperçu des 1000 îles de Kingston. Mais aussi toutes la période des fêtes avec les parades, les films de Noël et les biscuits dont emporté les recettes. Ils vont régulièrement en ville et j'ai pu visiter Kingston plusieurs fois.
Ils m'ont toujours proposée de participer à leurs sorties et leurs traditions et nous avons eu de belles discussions.

I had a great stay with Holly, Warren and their children. They welcomed me like a member of their family.
I did simple tasks on their farm in the morning and evening. I helped the family improve their French, I looked after the children from time to time and I helped with the daily chores around the house.
The whole family was attentive to introducing me to Canadian winter culture with the chip pie, the snowmobile, the USA bridge and a glimpse of the 1000 islands of Kingston. But also throughout the holiday season with the parades, Christmas films and the cookies from which the recipes were taken. They go into town regularly and I have been able to visit Kingston several times.
They always asked me to participate in their outings and their traditions and we had great discussions.

Lally was a pleasure to have at our farm. She is clearly an animal lover and was passionate about her care for our animals.
The children loved playing with her and doing crafts that she showed them.
She was quiet and respectful and a great addition to our family. She worked hard and was polite and always willing to help out.

Michèle was such a gift to our family. She was polite and kept to herself but was always willing to integrate and play with the children. Our youngest hung from Michèle's hip for the duration of her stay and created a very strong bond with her. She was like a part of our family and we will really miss her!!

The best workaway I have ever done!
I spend a lot of good time with all the family and I'm so sad to leave. The farm work is no complicated and quite fast. The life with the family is rarely quiet but with 4 children it's normal. All the children are very lovely and cheerful so the noise is nothing but 4 children enjoying life.

It was such a pleasure to have Mathilde help out at our farm. She was a joy to be around, patient with the children and respectful of our space. She worked hard in the gardens and was very helpful getting the farm ready for winter. We all miss her being at our house!

I am so glad I found your family! My stay with this family was so great I would have stayed forever. They made sure I had everything I needed and more.
The children are very smart and it was great doing activities with them (like the chicken game!). Hearing them laugh or say something I taught them in French was definitely a highlight !

… read more do and learn so many things. From how to care for the animals (Tingalayo was definitely the cutest!) and do maple syrup to refreshing my dusty riding skills. I loved doing the chores and thinking about ways to make them easier. I had a lot of freedom to do so and I organized the barn quite a bit. I was happy to be helpful and it was really rewarding to be part of their family.You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Obazine is one of the most lovely people that you could host in your home. She is quiet, tidy, respectful, hard working and a pleasure to be around.
Once she observed our very busy life, she took it upon herself to do farm chores on waking or unloading the dishwasher and cleaning when not asked and spent a lot of time playing with my children.

She helped immensely with our spring barn clean up and was willing to do all of the jobs - even the dirty ones. She did a lot of building and constructing and had great ideas to add to the efficiency of our farm.
We all were sad to see her go and wish her the best in her travels in the future. You would be wise to have her stay as a workaway!
