    Description

Hi, I am Rebecca. Myself and my husband Rob live in the beautiful beach town of Jan Juc, near Torquay, on the Surf Coast of Victoria, with our two girls India (8) and Lois (5). I work as a primary school teacher and Rob is a Physiotherapist.

We are originally from the UK but have been living in Australia for 13 years. We love the lifestyle but living away from family support means that it can be challenging juggling work commitments with the logistics of school drop off pick up and after school activities.

Recently due to family ill health I have to travel back to the UK for a few weeks at a time leaving Rob and the girls in Australia.

We are looking for some assistance with school runs, simple household tasks and looking after the children to assist in the daily juggle and allowing Rob to continue working whilst I am out of the country.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Having both grown up in Europe myself and Rob were exposed to a multitude of cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds. We have both travelled extensively and we are passionate for our girls to grow up learning about and experiencing diversity and developing a curiosity for culture and a wanderlust for travel.

We can offer you the typical Australian beachside lifestyle. Living in a small close knit community within walking distance to world class beaches and surf breaks like Bells Beach, with amazing Australian landscape and wildlife on your doorstep to explore on foot, by bike, by car or surfboard.

  • Help

    Help

We would really appreciate some help with the logistics of getting the girls to and from school and after school activities. Some evenings you will also be required to sort the girls' dinner and put them to bed.
You will need to be able to drive and a car will be made available to you throughout your stay.
Skills with crafting, colouring and lego are a plus and a love of playgrounds, trampolines, monkey bars, bike rides, kayaking and beach trips are also desirable attributes!
During the week in term time whilst the girls are in school you will be free to explore the stunning local area.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Our house has an attached unit separated by a lockable door with its own private entrance which we rent out. It is fully equipped with a bathroom, shower and Kitchen with its own separate outdoor courtyard. This gives you the opportunity to have privacy when you want it and to cook your own meals if you like, but we also invite you to be an active part of the household and eat with us and treat our whole house like your own.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Jan Juc gives your the opportunity to be as active or as lazy as you like. You are welcome to borrow one of our multiple bikes, surfboards, stand up paddle boards, or kayaks to explore the local area, or just take a book and head to the beach.

You will have full use of a car through out your stay to enable you to help with the kids and to explore further afield (we would highly recommend a road trip along the world famous Great Ocean Road). Melbourne is also only 90 minutes away making it great for a day trip or a weekend visit.
