Description
My name is Joeke, I’m a Belgian father living in southern Spain with my 4-year-old daughter.
We live on a beautiful piece of land within a lovely and open-minded community. It’s the perfect place to meet inspiring people, slow down, and explore an alternative way of living close to nature.
There is a ruin on the land that I would love to rebuild step by step. For this reason, I’m looking for someone who enjoys:
Spending time with my daughter (simply playing and having fun together)
Helping with cooking and small daily tasks
Working in De garden,
We can always discuss together what feels right for both of us in terms of schedule and tasks.
The area
We live just 10 minutes by car from Órgiva, a lively town with lots going on:
local markets, workshops, cozy shops, and a vibrant international atmosphere.
From our land you have stunning views of the Sierra Nevada, the highest mountain range in Spain.
The coast is about 40 minutes away, with many beautiful beaches and charming seaside towns to explore.
If you feel drawn to a simple, nature-based lifestyle and would like to share daily life with us, I’d love to hear from you!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Living here is a truly enriching cultural exchange experience. Our land is part of an international and open-minded community where people from all over the world come together, each bringing their own background, skills, stories, and ways of living. Daily life naturally invites connection, conversation, and learning from one another.
You’ll experience Spanish culture through local markets, traditions, food, and the rhythm of life in nearby Órgiva, while also being exposed to a mix of cultures from people who have chosen an alternative, nature-based lifestyle in this area. It’s a place where different languages are spoken, ideas are shared, and curiosity is welcomed.
Sharing daily moments—cooking together, spending time with my daughter, helping on the land, and enjoying nature—creates a genuine exchange rather than a tourist experience. There is space for mutual learning, inspiration, and meaningful human connection.
Surrounded by mountains, close to the sea, and rooted in community life, this is a place where cultural exchange happens naturally, simply by living together.
